Sofa Beds

In short: Apley Beds sells more than 60 sofa beds, from click clack sofa beds under £300 to UK-made Jay-Be sofa beds with a wool-topped sprung mattress for nightly use. Choose a click clack for a small room and occasional guests, a pull-out sofa bed with a proper mattress for regular use, a corner sofa bed for a family room, or a chair bed where space is tight. Free delivery to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey, and you can spread the cost with Klarna.

Which type of sofa bed do you need?
Click clack sofa beds lower the back to make a flat bed in one movement, with nothing to pull out. They suit studios, offices and guest rooms. Popular choices: the Lux, the Cloud (bed 141 x 187cm), the Thea 3 seater and the Oslo velvet click clack.
Pull-out sofa beds with a sprung mattress hide a separate mattress inside the sofa, so the seat and the bed are each made for their job. The Jay-Be Linea, Elegance, Slim, Deco and Chesterfield ranges are made in the UK with a Deep e-Sprung mattress and are the right choice if the bed is used most weeks.
Corner sofa beds give a full corner sofa by day and a double-width bed by night, and several hide storage under the chaise. See the Hampton (pull-out bed 123 x 202cm with chaise storage), the Cloud Corner and the Blaire and Myles corner sofa beds.
Chair beds and snugglers fit a single sleeper into the footprint of an armchair. Try the Slim Snuggler, the Rhodes single seat sofa bed, the Scott click clack chair or the Footstool sofa bed, which opens out from a footstool.

Measure before you buy
Check two sizes: the sofa’s width, depth and height for the room by day, and the open bed’s length for the room by night. Leave space to walk around the open bed. Bed sizes on our most popular models: Blaire 2 seater 114.5 x 188.5cm, Oslo click clack 112 x 191cm, Quinn 109.5 x 187cm, Cloud 141 x 187cm, Hampton corner 123 x 202cm. Every product page lists the sofa and bed dimensions in centimetres.

Occasional guests or every night?
For a few nights a year, a click clack or futon such as the Corin is good value. For a teenager’s room, a lodger or a studio flat, choose a pull-out sofa bed with a sprung or pocket sprung mattress, such as the Jay-Be ranges or the Heritage. If you would rather have a dedicated guest bed that folds away, see our folding travel beds.

Sofa bed questions
What is the difference between a click clack and a pull-out sofa bed? A click clack folds its own seat and back flat to make the bed. A pull-out sofa bed stores a separate mattress on a metal action under the seat cushions, which is usually more comfortable for regular sleeping.
Can I sleep on a sofa bed every night? Yes, if you choose one built for it. Look for a sprung, pocket sprung or Deep e-Sprung mattress, such as the Jay-Be Linea, Elegance and Slim ranges.
Do your sofa beds come with a mattress? Pull-out sofa beds include their mattress. Click clack sofa beds and futons use their own seat padding as the sleeping surface.
Are your sofa beds made in Britain? The Jay-Be sofa beds are made in the UK. Other ranges come from UK-based suppliers; check each product page for its details.
Is delivery free? Yes, delivery is free to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey. We cannot deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly. See delivery information for lead times.
