The Jay-Be Footstool Bed is an upholstered footstool with a full fold-out bed hidden inside. In the living room it is a deep, padded footrest or extra seat measuring 89 × 72 cm. When someone stays over, lift the top, unfold the steel bed frame and it becomes a single bed with its own e-Fibre™ mattress, without having to take off any cushions first. It is the smallest way we sell to add a bed to a flat, a home office or a lounge that doubles as a spare room.
It is made by Jay-Be in Yorkshire, in the same factory and the same 26 fabrics as Jay-Be’s sofa beds, so it can match a Jay-Be sofa bed or simply sit as an accent piece. Choose from soft Luxe Velvet, textured Cosy Chenille or wool-look Brushed Twill.

Sizes: check the space first
As a footstool it is 89 cm wide, 72 cm deep and 46 cm high. Opened as a bed it needs about 219 cm of floor length (footstool plus frame) and 72 cm of width, and the sleeping surface stands about 48 cm off the floor. The mattress is 69 cm wide and 183 cm long, which is narrower and a little shorter than a standard UK single (90 × 190 cm). That makes it ideal for children, teenagers and occasional adult guests; for a tall adult who stays often, a 2-seater sofa bed or a Jay-Be folding bed with a 200 cm mattress is the better choice.

Is it comfortable to sleep on?
It has a proper quilted fibre mattress, not a cushion, so it is comfortable for overnight guests. Because the mattress is 69 cm wide and 183 cm long, it is best for children, teenagers and shorter adults.
How quickly does it turn into a bed?
In seconds. The mechanism unfolds straight out of the footstool, and you do not need to remove the seat cushions.
Which fabric should I choose?
