Apley Clyde 2 Seater Sofa Bed

Description

The Apley Clyde 2 Seater Sofa Bed is the two-seater in the Clyde range, alongside the corner unit we already stock. It is the version for rooms that cannot take a corner — a snug, a home office, a flat, a room where the sofa has to sit against one wall and stay there.

As a sofa bed it does the job a spare room does, without the room. Most households need a second bed a handful of nights a year, which is a poor return on a whole bedroom standing empty the rest of the time.

Before you order

Measure the access route before you buy, not after it arrives: the front door, the narrowest hallway turn, and the stairs and their turn if it is going up. Measure doorways diagonally as well as straight across — the diagonal often buys the inches you need.

Then measure the floor space with the bed open, not just the sofa closed. That is the measurement people forget, and it is the one that decides whether a sofa bed is usable or merely present. Leave room to walk round at least one side.

Delivery

Delivery is free to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey. We do not deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly. Sweet Dreams build this sofa bed to order in Britain, so please allow around two to three weeks from order to delivery. Our delivery partner contacts you to agree a day, and it arrives with a two-person crew. The sofa arrives fully built, so measure doorways, hallways and stairs before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

How big is the bed when the Clyde is opened?

The sleeping area is 128 x 180cm, a 4ft small double. Allow enough floor space in front of the sofa for the three-fold action to unfold fully, and room to walk round one side.

What mattress comes with the Clyde 2 seater?

A micro-quilted fibre block mattress with a soft dome top layer. It stays folded inside the sofa, so you do not need to store a separate guest mattress.

Is the Clyde made in the UK?

Yes. Sweet Dreams build it in Britain on a hardwood frame with glued and stapled joints, using timber from a sustainable source.

Can I wash the cushion covers?

Yes. The seat and scatter cushion covers are removable and washable, which helps in a busy living room or a holiday let.

Is the Clyde suitable for everyday sleeping?

It is designed for guests and occasional use. For someone sleeping on it every night, a bed or a daybed with a full mattress is a better choice.
