Description

The Apley Eve Sofa Bed is a two-seater with soft curved arms and piped detailing that opens, in one easy movement, onto a 10cm sprung, tufted mattress for two. It is the sofa bed to choose when the sofa has to look good in a living room every day, and the bed has to be comfortable enough that guests actually sleep on it.

Comfort as a sofa

The seat and back cushions are high-density profile-cut foam wrapped in polyester fibre. The foam gives support and holds its shape; the fibre wrap softens the surface so it feels relaxed rather than hard. Accent cushions are included, and you choose light or dark showwood feet to suit your floor and furniture.

The Eve uses a two-fold mechanism that keeps the seat cushions in place while the bed opens, so there is nothing to remove and stack on the floor. The base is a sprung platform on wooden slats, topped by a 10cm thick sprung, tufted mattress. That combination of springs in the mattress and slats beneath is what separates a guest bed people tolerate from one they sleep well on.

How it is made

The frame combines hardwood with other materials, with every joint glued and stapled for strength. It is upholstered to order in your chosen fabric.

Choosing a fabric

The Eve is made in fourteen colours across two fabric families. The Apley shades run from deep jewel tones such as Royal, Teal and Mustard to soft neutrals such as Oyster, Oatmeal and Fawn. The Ashley fabrics, in Charcoal, Denim, Oatmeal and Silver, are a good choice for busy family rooms. Before you order

Measure the route into the room: front door, hallway turns, stair width and any landing turn. Leave enough clear floor in front of the sofa for the bed to open fully, and check that radiators, coffee tables and rugs will not be in the way.

Delivery is free to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey. We do not deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly.
