The Apley Portland 2 Seater Sofa Bed is a two-seater that converts to a bed — a sofa first, and a spare bed on the nights you need one.

Two seats is the size most rooms actually have space for. A three-seater dominates a small living room and a corner unit commits the whole layout; a two-seater leaves room for a chair, a table, or simply a way past.

Before you order

Measure the route in before you buy: front door, the narrowest hallway turn, the stairs and the turn at the top. Measure doorways on the diagonal as well as straight across, since turning a sofa corner-first is usually what gets it through.

Measure the floor space with the bed open too, not just the sofa closed. A sofa bed that opens into a coffee table or blocks the door gets used once and then never again. Leave enough room to walk round at least one side of it.
