Description
The Apley Teagan Memory is a memory foam mattress from our Eden range, made in five UK sizes from small single through to king.
Memory foam suits people who wake with pressure points — hips, shoulders, the base of the back — because it moulds to you rather than pushing back uniformly. It also dampens movement, which is why couples who disturb each other tend to prefer it to a traditional sprung mattress.
Sizes available
This mattress is made in 5 sizes. UK bed sizes are standard, so these are the dimensions you can expect:
- Small Single 2ft 6 — 75 x 190 cm (2’6” x 6’3”)
- Single 3ft — 90 x 190 cm (3’0” x 6’3”)
- Small Double 4ft — 120 x 190 cm (4’0” x 6’3”)
- Double 4ft 6 — 135 x 190 cm (4’6” x 6’3”)
- King 5ft — 150 x 200 cm (5’0” x 6’6”)
Is memory foam right for you?
Memory foam is not for everyone and the trade-offs are worth knowing. It holds warmth more than a sprung mattress, so hot sleepers sometimes find it too warm in summer. It also feels different to sit on the edge of, because the foam gives rather than resisting. What it does better than almost anything else is spread your weight, which is why it is the usual recommendation for anyone who wakes with a numb arm or an aching hip.
Measure your existing base before ordering rather than the old mattress. UK bed sizes are standard, but mattresses bought abroad or before the 1990s can differ in width and length.

We deliver to mainland England and Wales. We do not currently deliver to the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands or the Scottish islands. Delivery is arranged directly with you once your order is placed.
Delivery
Delivered free to mainland England and Wales. We do not currently deliver to the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland or the offshore islands. Mattresses are delivered rolled and boxed where the construction allows it, which makes them far easier to carry upstairs and through a narrow doorway.
Questions people ask
What does the memory layer actually do? Memory foam softens with body heat and moulds to your shape, which spreads your weight rather than concentrating it at the hip and shoulder. People who wake with pressure-point aches tend to notice the difference first.
Does memory foam sleep hot? It holds more warmth than a plain spring mattress. If you sleep hot, use breathable cotton bedding rather than a synthetic set, and keep the room ventilated.
Does it need turning? Rotate head to foot every few months. Do not flip it — the memory layer is on the sleeping side only.
How long before it feels right? Allow up to 48 hours to recover full height after unboxing, and two to three weeks for your body to settle into a new support profile. That adjustment period is normal.
Will it suit a heavier sleeper? The spring unit carries the load and the memory layer handles comfort, so it copes better with weight than an all-foam mattress. Contact us if you want the specification checked against your needs.
Can I use an electric blanket? We would not recommend it on a memory foam surface — sustained heat changes how the foam behaves.
