Description
This white wooden single bed hides a second bed underneath. Pull the trundle out on its own and it sits low on the floor; fold down its legs and it lifts to a comfortable height beside the main bed, so a sleepover guest, a visiting cousin or a sibling who wants company has a proper bed rather than an airbed. When it is not needed, the trundle slides back under and the room looks like it holds a single bed again.
The design is simple and timeless: slatted headboard and footboard, a clean white painted finish and natural wooden slats on both decks. It suits a child’s room now and still works in a teenager’s room or a spare room later, which is why it is a sensible long-term buy rather than a novelty.
Why a trundle beats a fold-out or an airbed
- Two real sleeping places in the floor space of one single bed.
- Fold-down legs lift the trundle so the second sleeper is not lying on a cold floor, and it is easier to get in and out of.
- Slatted bases on both the bed and the trundle let the mattresses breathe.
- Nothing to inflate or store: the guest bed lives under the main bed, ready in seconds.
Mattresses
Both the main bed and the trundle take a standard UK single mattress, 90 x 190 cm, sold separately. For the trundle choose a slimmer mattress so it slides back under the main bed easily; a shallow sprung or foam mattress suits it well. Size-matched single mattresses are suggested below this listing.
Who it suits
It is a natural choice for children who have friends to stay, for families with grandchildren who visit, and for small spare rooms that need to sleep two without giving up the floor. Because the main bed sits at an ordinary height, it suits children moving out of a toddler bed as well as older children and adults.

Assembly and care
The bed arrives flat packed with the fittings and step-by-step instructions. Two adults make assembly easier, and it is best to build it in the room where it will stay. Re-tighten the bolts after the first few weeks of use and then every few months, because solid wood settles slightly as it acclimatises to a centrally heated home. Wipe the painted surfaces with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry them straight away; avoid bleach, solvent cleaners and abrasive pads, which can dull or chip the paint. Keep the frame a little way from radiators so the timber is not exposed to direct heat.
Delivery
Delivery is free to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey. We are unable to deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly. The bed arrives flat packed, and we will contact you to confirm your delivery window before it leaves the warehouse. If it is planned as a Christmas present, ordering early leaves time to build it before the big day.
Frequently asked questions
Are mattresses included?
No. The bed and the trundle each take a standard UK single mattress, 90 x 190 cm, sold separately.
Does the trundle sit at the same height as the bed?
No. The trundle stays lower than the main bed. Its fold-down legs lift it off the floor to about 30 cm, which is comfortable for a guest.
What thickness of mattress fits the trundle?
A slimmer mattress is best so the trundle slides back under the bed easily. Check the depth before you buy if you choose a thick mattress.
How much floor space do I need with the trundle out?
Allow about 205 cm in length and roughly twice the bed width, around 2 metres, when the trundle is fully out.
Does it come assembled?
No. It arrives flat packed with fittings and instructions. Two adults make assembly easier.
