Description
A good children’s mattress has to cope with a lot: growing bodies, bouncing, the odd spilled drink and years of use. The Kidsaw 1000 Pocket Sprung Single Mattress is built for exactly that. Inside are 1,000 individually pocketed springs that move independently, so the mattress supports the shoulders, hips and back where each one presses, rather than sagging in the middle like an open coil.
Above the springs sits a 2.5 cm layer of airy foam that adds a softer touch and lets air flow through the mattress, helping it stay fresh. The whole mattress is wrapped in a 200 GSM quilted cover made with an anti dust mite material, a sensible choice for children with allergies or asthma, and the mattress is fully hypoallergenic.
It is made in the UK, meets the UK fire safety regulations for furniture and is made without antimony, phosphorus or arsenic-based fire retardant chemicals. At 20 cm deep it suits standard single beds, cabin beds and most mid sleepers, where a deep mattress could rise too close to the top of the guard rail.
Key benefits
- 1,000 pocket springs: individual support that adapts as children grow.
- Breathable foam comfort layer: 2.5 cm of air foam for comfort and airflow.
- Anti dust mite quilted cover: 200 GSM, soft to sleep on and kinder to allergy sufferers.
- 100% hypoallergenic: suitable for sensitive sleepers.
- Rotatable: turn it head to toe regularly to spread the wear and extend its life.
- Made in the UK: and compliant with UK ignition safety regulations.
Which beds does it fit?
The mattress measures 90 x 190 cm, the standard UK single (3ft) size, and is 20 cm deep. It fits any UK single bed frame, including the Kudl cabin beds, mid sleepers and Kidsaw single beds in our range. For high sleepers and bunk beds, always check the manufacturer’s maximum mattress depth so the guard rail stays at least 16 cm above the mattress surface.
Unpacking and care
The mattress is delivered vacuum packed and rolled. Unwrap it on the bed frame, carefully cutting the outer packaging, and allow 24 to 48 hours for it to recover its full shape before it is slept on. Rotate it every few weeks for the first few months, then every couple of months. Spot clean the cover with a damp cloth and mild detergent and let it air dry fully. A mattress protector helps keep it fresh for longer.
