Description
A foam-free 800 pocket sprung mattress with a deep, quilted top
The Jay-Be Ryze 800 Pocket Sprung Mattress is the top model in Jay-Be’s Ryze collection, launched in 2026 alongside the Ryze Deep Quilted and Ryze Memory. It pairs a core of 800 individually pocketed springs with a thick, deep-quilted top of e-Fibre™ layers, so it feels plush when you first lie down but keeps you supported once you settle. Each spring sits in its own fabric pocket and moves on its own, which means the mattress follows the shape of your shoulders and hips and you feel far less of a partner turning over or getting up in the night.
There is no foam in it at all. Every comfort layer is a fibre filling, which lets air move through the mattress rather than trapping heat, and a ventilated 3D mesh border round the sides helps the mattress breathe. Jay-Be rates the feel as medium, a good starting point for most back and side sleepers. It is 23 cm deep, made in the UK in a certified zero-to-landfill factory, delivered vacuum-packed and rolled, and covered by Jay-Be’s 10-year manufacturer guarantee.
What is inside, layer by layer
- Deep-quilted knitted sleep surface: a soft knitted cover made with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified fabric, quilted deep to give the plush, pillowy top.
- Advance e-Fibre™: an extra-soft fibre layer directly under the cover for the luxurious first feel; it also wicks moisture away from the surface.
- Breathable rebound e-Fibre™: a springier fibre layer that cushions pressure points and recovers its shape when you move.
- High-density e-Fibre™ insulator: a firm fibre pad that stops the springs being felt through the comfort layers.
- Adaptive 800 pocket spring core: 800 independent deep pocket springs (Jay-Be’s figure) for contoured support and low motion transfer.
- High-density e-Fibre™ foundation layer: a firm base layer that protects the springs and gives the mattress a stable footing on the bed.
- Ventilated 3D mesh border: an open mesh band round the sides that lets air in and out as you move.
The fabric is treated with a natural, salt-based fire retardant rather than a chemical finish, and Jay-Be describes the materials as hypoallergenic, odourless and vegan-friendly (no animal-derived materials).
Who the Ryze 800 suits
It suits couples who want the motion isolation of pocket springs, people who like a softer, more cushioned top without moving to memory foam, and anyone who sleeps warm and wants a mattress that stays fresh. Because it is medium rather than firm, it works for most back sleepers and side sleepers. If you sleep mainly on your front or carry more weight and want a firmer surface, a firmer option will suit you better.
How it compares with other Jay-Be mattresses we sell
- Ryze 800 vs Pure Anti-Allergy 800: both have 800 pocket springs, are foam-free and 23 cm deep. The Pure adds a plant-oil anti-allergy treatment to the cover and is medium-firm; the Ryze has the deeper quilted top and a softer, medium feel, and costs less.
- Ryze 800 vs TrueCore 1000: the TrueCore has more springs and a firmer, flatter feel; the Ryze is the more cushioned of the two.
- Ryze 800 vs Pure Anti-Allergy Comfort Sprung: the Pure Comfort uses an open-coil spring unit and is the budget choice; the Ryze’s pocket springs move individually, which matters most when two people share the bed.

Unpacking and care
Take the roll to the bedroom before you open it, as it is much easier to carry rolled. Lay it on the bed base, cut the outer wrap carefully without using a sharp blade near the cover, and let it unroll. It takes shape within minutes, but allow 24 to 48 hours in a ventilated room for it to reach its full 23 cm depth and for any packaging smell to clear. Rotate it head to toe every few weeks for the first three months, then every three months, to keep the quilting and springs wearing evenly. A breathable mattress protector keeps the cover clean without blocking the airflow the foam-free layers rely on.
Delivery
Free delivery to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey, by courier to your door. Because the mattress comes rolled in a compact pack, it fits through narrow doorways and up tight stairs. We do not deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly.
Frequently asked questions
How firm is the Jay-Be Ryze 800?
Jay-Be rates it medium. The deep-quilted fibre top gives a soft first feel, and the 800 pocket springs underneath provide the support. It suits most back and side sleepers.
Does it contain any foam or memory foam?
No. It is 100% foam-free. All of the comfort layers are e-Fibre™ fibre fillings, which is why it breathes well and tends to sleep cooler than foam-topped mattresses.
Is it good for couples?
Yes. Each of the 800 springs is in its own pocket and moves independently, so movement on one side is not passed across the bed in the way it is on an open-coil mattress.
Do I need to turn it?
Rotate it head to toe regularly to even out wear. Check the label on delivery to see whether it is single-sided before flipping it over.
What sizes are available and which beds does it fit?
UK Single (90 × 190 cm), Small Double (120 × 190 cm), Double (135 × 190 cm) and King (150 × 200 cm). It fits any standard UK bed frame, divan or ottoman of the same size. At 23 cm deep, check the side-rail height on low-profile frames and bunk beds; it is not suitable for the top bunk of a bunk bed.
