Description
Sometimes the simplest bed is the right one. This white wooden single bed frame has clean lines, a softly shaped headboard and a sprung slatted base, with nothing fussy to date it. It works as a child’s first big bed, a teenager’s bed, a guest bed in a box room or a spare in a holiday let, and it slots neatly into rooms where floor space is tight.
The frame stands on sturdy square legs with extra centre support beneath the slats, so the mattress is held evenly from head to foot. At 56 cm to the top of the headboard it sits low under a window or a sloping ceiling, and the open space underneath is handy for slim storage boxes.
Why choose this single bed
- Timeless white finish. Painted white wood suits every colour scheme, from a bright children’s room to a calm neutral guest room.
- Standard UK single. It takes a 90 x 190 cm (3ft) mattress, the most widely available size, so finding bedding is easy.
- Supportive slatted base. Curved wooden slats with centre legs give the mattress a firm, ventilated foundation.
- Compact footprint. Only 96 cm wide and 196 cm long overall, so it fits rooms where a larger frame would crowd the space.
- Great value. A well-made, no-nonsense frame at a price that leaves room in the budget for a good mattress.
Choosing a mattress
The bed is sold without a mattress. We show a selection of single mattresses on this page, from a foam-free sprung children’s mattress to deeper pocket sprung options for older children and adults. A mattress around 15 to 25 cm deep sits comfortably on this frame.

Assembly and care
The bed arrives flat packed with the fittings and step-by-step instructions. Two adults make assembly easier, and it is best to build it in the room where it will stay. Re-tighten the bolts after the first few weeks of use and then every few months, as timber settles slightly in a centrally heated home. Wipe the painted surfaces with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry them straight away; avoid bleach, solvent cleaners and abrasive pads. Keep the frame a little way from radiators.
Delivery
Delivery is free to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey. We are unable to deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly. The bed arrives flat packed, and we will contact you to confirm your delivery window before it leaves the warehouse.
