The Bonnie chair is a small chair with a big personality. It has no arms, a low, deeply padded seat and a plump, rounded back cushion that curves gently at the shoulders, so it looks relaxed and inviting from every angle. The upholstered base sweeps round in one soft curve, and the chair stands on dark wooden ball feet at the front with tapered wooden legs behind – a playful, slightly retro detail that keeps the silhouette light rather than boxy.

Because there are no arms to get in the way, Bonnie slips into spaces where a full armchair simply will not fit: a bedroom corner, the end of a landing, beside a dressing table or next to a sofa as an extra seat when guests arrive. It is a new design from Kyoto, the upholstery specialist behind many of our best-selling sofa beds and chairs, and it comes in two warm chenille fabrics.

Design and comfort

An armless chair lives or dies by its seat, and Bonnie’s is generous: a thick, rounded cushion that you sink into, sitting on a fully upholstered base. The back cushion is plump and softly curved, supporting the lower and middle back for an easy, upright-but-relaxed sit that suits reading, scrolling or a morning coffee. Without arms you can sit sideways, tuck a leg up or perch on the edge to put on shoes, which is exactly why armless slipper chairs have long been a bedroom favourite.

At 58cm wide, 72cm deep and 78cm high, Bonnie has one of the smallest footprints in our chair range. It weighs just 11kg, so it is easy to move from room to room or pull up to a coffee table when you need another seat.

Choose your fabric

• Ambros Natural Textured Chenille: a soft, oatmeal-cream chenille with a fine woven texture. It is a calm, light neutral that suits pale walls, oak floors, linen and natural textures, and works in Scandi, Japandi and modern country schemes.
• Toffee Luxe Chenille: a rich, velvety chenille in a warm rust-caramel tone with a subtle sheen. It adds a cosy pop of autumn colour against cream, sage, navy or charcoal, and looks especially good with brass, walnut and rattan accents.

To care for either fabric, vacuum regularly with a soft upholstery brush, keep the chair out of strong direct sunlight to protect the colour, and blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth rather than rubbing. Plump the seat and back cushions now and then to keep their shape.

Where it works

• Bedroom: a place to sit and dress, at the end of the bed, by a window or in front of a dressing table.
• Living room: an extra occasional seat beside a sofa, or a matching pair either side of a fireplace or console table.
• Hallway or landing: a compact spot to sit and take off boots, where a full armchair would block the way.
• Reading corner or home office: a comfortable chair to curl up in with a book, a lamp and a small side table.

Bonnie is a brand-new launch: both fabrics are expected in stock on 4 November 2026, and orders placed now are reserved from that first delivery and dispatched as soon as it arrives. At 58cm wide and 11kg it passes easily through standard doorways and can be carried upstairs by one person.
