Description
Stanley push back recliner chair in short
The Stanley is a push back recliner chair: sit down, lean back against the backrest and the chair reclines, with no lever, cable or motor. It is the narrowest recliner we sell at 71cm wide, which makes it a sensible choice for a bedroom, a reading corner or a living room that already has a full-size sofa. It is upholstered in brown and supplied by Kyoto.

Who the Stanley suits
A push back recliner suits someone who can comfortably press their weight back into the chair. Because there is no mechanism to wire up or service, it can stand anywhere in the room, away from a socket. If pushing back is difficult (a bad back, limited strength in the arms or legs), a powered recliner is the better buy, because it is the one that will actually get used: see the Baxter electric recliner chair.
Before you order: three measurements
- The doorway. The chair is 71cm wide and 91cm deep. Measure the narrowest door and any turn on the way in.
- Space behind. A recliner tips back as it opens, so leave a gap between the chair back and the wall. Allow 30cm or more as a starting point.
- Space in front. Leave clear floor in front so the reclined chair does not meet a coffee table.

- Primo electric recliner chair: a powered recline at the touch of a button, so no pushing back is needed.
