Remy Lamp Table

At 45 centimetres square and 55 tall, the Remy is deliberately small and deliberately tall — which is an unusual combination and a useful one. Most lamp tables are wider than they are high. This one is the other way round, so it takes up very little floor while still reaching above the arm of a sofa.

That matters in a room where space is genuinely tight. A tall, narrow table can go in a gap a wider one cannot, and because the top clears the sofa arm, a lamp on it throws light forward rather than into the upholstery.

Where it works

Between two armchairs, in the gap at the end of a sofa where nothing else fits, or as a bedside table in a small bedroom — at 55cm it sits above mattress height on most beds, which puts a glass of water where you can reach it without groping downwards.

The 45cm top holds a lamp and a mug. It will not hold a lamp, a mug, a book and a phone, and it is not pretending to.

Questions people ask

Is it stable at that height? Yes for normal use. As with any tall narrow table, keep heavy items centred.

Will it work beside a high-armed sofa? At 55cm it clears most sofa arms, which lower tables do not.

Can it be a bedside table? Yes — it is a good height for most divan and framed beds.

Does it match the Remy coffee table? Same timber and finish. The coffee table is square at 80cm and 40cm high.

Is the wood solid? Solid mango, not veneer.
