Sutton Lamp Table — a soft-edged mango wood side table
The Sutton Lamp Table is a small occasional table built around two wide, oval legs that carry an organic, softly rounded tabletop. There is not a sharp corner on it. That matters more than it sounds: a lamp table lives at knee height beside a sofa or an armchair, in the part of a room people walk through in the dark, and rounded edges are the difference between a piece of furniture and a shin injury.
It is made from solid mango wood in a warm, all-over finish, so the grain reads differently on the top than it does on the legs. No two tables are identical — mango is a genuinely varied timber and the colour shifts from honey through to a deeper caramel across a single board.
Where it works
At 50cm tall it sits level with the arm of most sofas, which is the height you want for a table lamp, a mug and a book. The 50 x 40cm top is deliberately compact — enough for a lamp base and a drink without becoming a shelf for clutter. It suits the end of a sofa, the gap beside an armchair, a hallway under a mirror, or a bedside in a room where a conventional bedside cabinet would feel heavy.

Questions people ask
Is the wood solid or veneered? Solid mango wood, not a veneer over board.
Will the colour match the photographs exactly? Not exactly. Mango wood varies naturally in tone and grain, so your table will be recognisably the same design but individual in colouring. This is a characteristic of the timber, not a fault.
How much weight will it take? It is built for normal side-table use — a table lamp, drinks, books, a laptop. It is not designed to be stood on or to carry a television.
Does it need assembly? Minimal. The legs fix to the underside of the top and the whole job takes a few minutes.
How do I look after it? Wipe with a dry or barely damp cloth. Avoid standing hot mugs directly on the surface and use a mat under anything wet — like all solid timber, mango will mark if liquid is left to sit.
