Aluxo Astoria 3 Seater Sofa – Modern Chesterfield Sofa

Description

Aluxo Astoria 3 Seater Modern Chesterfield Sofa in Iron Bouclé

The Astoria takes the deep, buttoned presence of a traditional Chesterfield and redraws it with clean vertical channels instead of buttons. A row of rounded flutes runs up the back and continues across the seat, the arms sweep outwards in a soft curve, and the whole sofa is wrapped in a dense, looped bouclé in Iron, a blue-grey that reads as a calm mid-tone in daylight and deepens to slate in the evening.

At 232 cm wide it is a true three seater, with a 177 cm seat between the arms, so three adults can sit side by side without anyone perching on an arm. The seat is 64 cm deep and 46 cm off the floor: deep enough to sit back into, but high enough that getting up is easy, which matters more than most people expect on a low modern sofa.

Why the Astoria works in a real living room

• Channel stitching that holds its shape. Each flute is filled separately, so the seat and back keep their lines instead of flattening into one cushion over time.
• A finished back. The rear is upholstered in the same bouclé, so the sofa can float in an open-plan room or face away from a dining area without a bare panel on show.
• Arms you can lean on. The arms are 20 cm wide and 63 cm high, firm enough to rest against with a book and wide enough for a cup on a tray.
• Solid construction. A wooden frame, high-quality foam padding and dark wooden feet keep the sofa stable and level on wood, tiles or carpet.

Specification

Measuring up before you order

The Astoria is 104 cm deep, and depth is usually what decides whether a sofa turns through a hallway, so measure your front door, any internal doors and the tightest turn on the route. Mark out 232 × 104 cm on the floor with masking tape to see how it sits with your coffee table: leave around 45 cm between the front edge of the seat and the table so legs have room.

Living with Iron bouclé

Bouclé is woven from looped yarn, which gives it that soft, nubbly surface. The texture is forgiving: it breaks up light, so creases and everyday marks show far less than on a flat weave, and the mid-tone of Iron hides more than a pale cream would. Vacuum weekly with a soft upholstery brush rather than a beater head, blot spills straight away with a clean dry cloth, and if a loop is ever pulled, ease it back into the weave with a blunt needle rather than cutting it. Keep the sofa out of strong direct sun to protect the colour.

Frequently asked questions

What size is the Astoria 3 seater sofa?
232 cm wide, 104 cm deep and 78 cm high, with a 177 cm wide seat, 64 cm seat depth and 46 cm seat height.

What colour is Iron bouclé?
A blue-grey mid-tone. It looks cooler in north light and warmer under lamps. It pairs well with oak, walnut, brass and soft white walls.

Is the Astoria available in other colours?
Iron is the colour we can currently supply. Some photographs show the Astoria in a cream Oatmeal bouclé to illustrate its shape; Oatmeal is not currently available to order.

Is the seat firm or soft?
A medium sit. The foam is supportive enough to sit upright for a meal or a conversation, with a soft bouclé surface to sink into.

Do you deliver to Scotland?
No. We deliver free to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey, but not to Scotland, Northern Ireland or the islands listed above.
