Description
The Kudl low cabin bed turns the dead space under a single bed into somewhere to actually put things. It sits low to the floor, so it suits younger children who have outgrown a toddler bed but are not ready for anything raised, and it works just as well in a teenager’s room where floor space has run out.
Storage built into the low cabin bed
Storage runs the full length of the frame in three sections. Two open niches sit at either end for books, boxes and the things that get used every day, and a central cupboard behind two doors takes everything that is better out of sight. In a small bedroom that is often enough to do away with a separate chest of drawers entirely, which is where the floor space comes back.
The white finish is a durable melamine over board, chosen because it wipes clean. Children’s bedroom furniture takes a hard life, and the surfaces are the part that shows it first.

- Mattress required: any standard UK single 3ft, W 90 × L 190 cm
- Height to sleeping surface: 51 cm — low enough for a child to get in and out unaided
At 196 cm long and 96 cm wide the frame needs a little more floor than a plain single bed, because the storage is built into the footprint rather than hidden beneath it.
Living with a low cabin bed — worth knowing before you order
- The mattress is not included. Any UK 3ft single will fit.
- The two open niches stop roughly half way along, where the frame’s support rails cross. They are generous, but they do not run the full depth.
- The niches are open to the floor and have no base panel, so whatever flooring the bed stands on shows through. On carpet this is barely noticeable; on bare boards it is worth knowing.
- Supplied flat packed for home assembly, with fittings and instructions included.
- Finished in white.
