Kudl Low Cabin Bed with Storage – Single 3ft, Pink

Description

The Kudl Low Cabin Bed with Storage in pink is a bright, friendly first big bed with toy storage built straight into the base. Underneath the mattress there are two open niches either side of a two-door cupboard, which gives little ones somewhere obvious to put books, teddies and storage boxes at the end of the day.

The frame is just 51 cm high. That is low enough for a three- or four-year-old to climb in without help, and it means a fall from the mattress is no bigger than from a standard divan. Parents moving a child out of a cot bed often find this the easiest step up.

Storage under the mattress

• Two open niches that take fabric cubes or plastic toy boxes, or simply a row of favourite picture books.
• A central cupboard with two doors for the bits you would rather keep out of sight.
• No separate toy chest needed, which frees floor space for play.

Pretty, practical and easy to style

The soft pink finish makes the bed the star of the room on its own. Add white bedding and fairy lights for a calm look, or bold prints for something livelier. Because the colour is on the bed rather than the walls, the room is easy to update later. The same bed is also available in pink and oak, oak effect, white, grey and black.

Their first big bed for Christmas

Moving into a big-girl or big-boy bed is a real milestone, and Christmas is a lovely moment to mark it. The open niches give the new toys a home on day one. Order early so there is time for delivery and assembly before the holidays.

Want shelves at the head end?

A matching bookcase headboard attachment is sold separately for Kudl low cabin beds, adding four cubbies for books and a night light.

Mattress

Takes a standard UK single mattress, 90 x 190 cm, sold separately. A breathable foam or sprung children’s mattress is ideal.

Specification

Assembly and care

The bed comes flat packed with labelled panels, all fittings and an illustrated instruction booklet. Two adults will find assembly quicker and safer, and it is worth building the frame in the bedroom it will live in, because the finished bed is long and awkward to carry up a staircase. Re-check the bolts every few months, as you would with any child’s furniture. The painted and oak-effect surfaces only need a wipe with a soft cloth wrung out in warm water, then a dry cloth; skip bleach, polish sprays and scouring pads, which can mark the finish. Keep the bed clear of radiators and direct heat, and use a breathable mattress with a washable protector so the sleeping surface stays fresh.

Delivery

Delivery is free to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey. We are unable to deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly. The bed is delivered flat packed in several cartons, and we will contact you to confirm a delivery window before it is dispatched. If the bed is a Christmas present, ordering in November leaves plenty of time to unbox it and build it before the school holidays begin.

Frequently asked questions

Is a mattress included?

No. It takes a standard UK single mattress, 90 x 190 cm, sold separately.

Is it low enough for a toddler?

The frame is 51 cm high, so most children moving up from a cot bed or toddler bed can climb in on their own. Under-threes may still be better in a toddler bed with side rails.

What fits in the open niches?

Standard fabric storage cubes and shallow toy boxes fit well. Check the height of any boxes against the 51 cm frame before buying.

Can I add a headboard later?

Yes. The Kudl bookcase headboard attachment fits the low cabin bed and adds four open cubbies.

Does it arrive assembled?

No. It is delivered flat packed with fittings and instructions.
