Description

Kensington ottoman bed in short

The Kensington is a velvet ottoman bed with a softly winged, Chesterfield-style buttoned headboard. The base lifts from the foot end on gas struts to reveal storage underneath, and it stands on black block feet. It comes in Double (4ft6), King (5ft) and Super King (6ft) and four Athena velvet colours: Bottle Green, Grey, Heather and Ink. It is supplied by Kyoto as a bed frame only, so the mattress is bought separately.

Why an end-opening ottoman

An end-opening (foot-lift) ottoman opens from the foot of the bed, so it suits a room where the bed’s sides are close to a wall or bedside tables. You need clear floor at the foot of the bed for the base to lift. The gas struts take most of the weight, so the base, with the mattress on it, lifts with one hand.

Choose a mattress

The Kensington takes a standard UK mattress in the size you choose. Browse double mattresses, king size mattresses or super king mattresses. On an ottoman, a lighter mattress makes the lift easier.
