Denver multi-lift ottoman bed: choose side lift or end lift storage
The Denver multi-lift ottoman bed gives you a full bed’s worth of hidden storage without giving up the look of an upholstered bed frame. Lift the slatted mattress base on its gas struts and the whole footprint of the bed opens up for duvets, spare pillows, out-of-season clothes and suitcases. Close it again and the storage disappears behind clean upholstered sides.
What sets the Denver apart is the choice of how it opens. Order it as a side ottoman, which lifts from the side of the bed, or a front ottoman, which lifts from the foot end. Pick whichever suits the way your room is laid out before you buy, because the lift direction is chosen when you order.
Which lift is right for your room?
- Front (end) lift suits most bedrooms. You stand at the foot of the bed and the base rises towards the headboard, so you only need clear floor at the end of the bed. It works well when the bed sits against a wall on one side.
- Side lift suits rooms where the foot of the bed is close to a wardrobe, chest of drawers or radiator. You open it from the side, so you need clear floor along one long edge instead.
Design
A tall, gently winged headboard frames the bed and gives you a padded surface to lean against when reading or watching television. The headboard rises to 121cm, so it makes a confident focal point without overpowering a standard ceiling height. The base and headboard are fully upholstered, with neat square corners and no exposed legs, so the bed reads as a single calm block in the room and nothing collects underneath.
Three fabrics
- Olive Herringbone Chenille: a soft moss green with a subtle herringbone pattern woven into the chenille. Lovely with white bedding, natural wood and plants.
- Mocha Herringbone Chenille: a rich warm brown in the same herringbone chenille. Cosy and forgiving, and pairs well with cream, rust and brass.
- Asteria Stone Textured Weave: a light, warm stone neutral with a fine textured weave, for a bright, restful room.

Choosing a mattress
The Denver takes a standard UK mattress in its size: 135 x 190cm for the Double, 150 x 200cm for the King and 180 x 200cm for the Super King. Check the weight of the mattress you choose against the limit above, because a very heavy mattress makes any ottoman harder to lift and strains the gas struts. Delivery
Delivery is free to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey. We do not deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly. The Denver arrives in four boxes and is assembled at home. Please check the stock line at the top of this page for the fabric you want before ordering.

Denver multi-lift ottoman bed FAQs
What is the difference between the side ottoman and front ottoman?
Only the direction the base lifts. The front ottoman opens from the foot of the bed and the side ottoman opens from one long side. The bed, sizes and fabrics are otherwise the same, and the price is the same for both.
What size mattress do I need?
A standard UK size: 135 x 190cm for the Double, 150 x 200cm for the King and 180 x 200cm for the Super King. The mattress is not included.
Is there a weight limit for the mattress?
Yes. Kyoto set a maximum mattress weight of 55kg for the Double and King and 60kg for the Super King, so the lift stays easy and the struts are not overloaded.
How much room do I need to open it?
For the front ottoman, leave clear floor at the foot of the bed. For the side ottoman, leave clear floor along the opening side. The Double is 204cm long and the King and Super King are 214cm long, including the headboard.
