Description

Memory-style contouring without the foam

The Jay-Be Ryze Memory Sprung Mattress is the middle model in Jay-Be’s Ryze collection, launched in 2026 alongside the Ryze Deep Quilted and the Ryze 800 Pocket Sprung. Its name can mislead: there is no memory foam inside. Instead, Jay-Be uses a layer of Memory e-Fibre™, a fibre filling designed to settle around your shoulders and hips for closer, more precise contouring, while still letting air pass through the mattress the way foam does not.

That layer sits between a soft Advance e-Fibre™ top and a deep sprung core, all under a deep-quilted knitted cover. The result is a mattress with a cushioned first feel and a supportive base that Jay-Be rates as medium-firm. It is 100% foam-free, made in the UK in a certified zero-to-landfill factory, delivered vacuum-packed and rolled, and covered by Jay-Be’s 10-year manufacturer guarantee.

What is inside, layer by layer

  • Deep-quilted knitted sleep surface: a soft knitted cover in OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified fabric.
  • Advance e-Fibre™: an extra-soft fibre layer directly under the cover that gives the plush first feel and wicks moisture away from your skin.
  • Memory e-Fibre™: the layer that gives the Ryze Memory its name, a fibre filling that responds to your body for more precise contouring and pressure relief.
  • Breathable rebound e-Fibre™: a springier fibre layer that cushions and recovers its shape when you change position.
  • High-density e-Fibre™ insulator: a firm pad that stops the springs being felt through the comfort layers.
  • Deep spring core: a deep sprung unit (rather than individual pocket springs) that spreads your weight evenly across the mattress.
  • High-density e-Fibre™ foundation layer: a firm base that protects the springs and gives the mattress a stable footing.

The fabric uses a natural, salt-based fire retardant rather than an added chemical finish, and Jay-Be describes the materials as hypoallergenic, odourless and vegan-friendly, with no animal-derived materials.

Who the Ryze Memory suits

Choose it if you like the hugging, pressure-relieving feel people associate with memory foam but find foam mattresses sleep too warm, or you would rather avoid foam altogether. The medium-firm rating suits back sleepers and many side sleepers, and works well for a single sleeper or a guest room. Couples who are disturbed by a partner’s movement may prefer pocket springs, which move independently; for that, look at the Ryze 800.

How it compares with other Jay-Be mattresses we sell

  • Ryze Memory vs Ryze 800 Pocket Sprung: same collection and the same foam-free, deep-quilted build. The Ryze 800 swaps the sprung core for 800 pocket springs, is a little deeper and has a softer, medium feel; the Ryze Memory adds the Memory e-Fibre™ layer, feels firmer and costs less.
  • Ryze Memory vs Pure Anti-Allergy Comfort Sprung: both are foam-free sprung mattresses at a similar price. The Pure adds a plant-oil anti-allergy treatment to the cover; the Ryze Memory has the deeper quilted top and the contouring Memory e-Fibre™ layer.
  • Ryze Memory vs Benchmark S3 Memory: the S3 uses real memory foam for a slower, deeper sink. Pick the S3 if you want that classic memory-foam feel; pick the Ryze Memory if you want contouring that stays cooler and foam-free.

Unpacking and care

Carry the roll to the bedroom before opening it. Lay it on the bed base, cut the outer wrap carefully, keeping any blade away from the cover, and let it unroll. It takes shape within minutes; give it 24 to 48 hours in a ventilated room to reach full depth and for any packaging smell to clear. Rotate it head to toe every few weeks for the first three months and every three months after that so the quilting and fibre layers wear evenly. A breathable mattress protector keeps the cover clean without blocking the airflow the foam-free layers rely on.

Delivery

Free delivery to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey, by courier to your door. The rolled pack is compact, so it fits through narrow doorways and up tight stairs. We do not deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Ryze Memory contain memory foam?

No. Despite the name, it is 100% foam-free. The “memory” comes from Memory e-Fibre™, a fibre filling that contours to your body, so it breathes better and tends to sleep cooler than a memory foam mattress.

How firm is it?

Jay-Be rates it medium-firm: a cushioned quilted top over a supportive sprung core. It is firmer than the Ryze 800, which is rated medium.

Is it suitable for couples?

Yes, though the sprung core moves as one unit, so you may feel more of a partner’s movement than on a pocket sprung mattress. If that matters to you, the Ryze 800 Pocket Sprung is the better choice.

How deep is it, and will it fit my bed?

It is about 20–21 cm deep and comes in standard UK Single, Small Double, Double and King sizes, so it fits any bed frame, divan or ottoman of the same size. It is not suitable for the top bunk of a bunk bed.

Do I need to turn it?

Rotate it head to toe regularly to keep wear even. Check the label on delivery to see whether it is single-sided before flipping it over.
