The Jay-Be Benchmark S3 Memory Responsive Support Mattress gives the slow, moulding feel people like about memory foam, but it is made entirely from fibre. Jay-Be’s Memory e-Fibre™ softens under your shoulders and hips to relieve pressure points, then recovers quickly when you move, so you do not get the “stuck in the mattress” feeling or the trapped heat that a foam layer can cause. It sits over a deep e-Spring™ core for even, supportive comfort, and the whole mattress is 100% foam-free.

The S3 sits in the middle of Jay-Be’s Benchmark range: more cushioning than the entry Benchmark S1, and a lower price than the S5 hybrid and S7 tri-brid. It is made in the UK, delivered vacuum-packed and rolled, and covered by Jay-Be’s manufacturer guarantee.

Fire safety is met with a salt-based treatment rather than a chemical finish. The fillings are hypoallergenic and odourless, and no animal-derived materials are used, so the S3 is vegan-friendly.

Who it suits

Side sleepers and anyone with sore hips or shoulders will notice the pressure relief most. Because it is foam-free and breathable, it also suits warm sleepers who have found memory foam too hot. It is a good-value choice for a main bedroom, a guest room or a student or rental property where a long-lasting, low-maintenance mattress is needed.

Move the roll into the bedroom before opening it. Place it on the base, cut away the wrapping carefully and let the mattress unroll. Leave it 24 to 48 hours in a ventilated room to reach its full 20 cm depth. Rotate it head to toe every few weeks for the first three months, then every three months.

Delivery

Free delivery to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey. Rolled packing means it fits through narrow doorways and up tight stairs. We do not deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a memory foam mattress?

No. It contains no foam at all. The “memory” layer is Memory e-Fibre™, a fibre that gives a similar pressure-relieving feel while staying breathable.

How firm is the Benchmark S3?

It has a cushioned, medium feel: soft fibre layers on top of a supportive spring core. It suits side and back sleepers.

Will it sleep hot?

Fibre fillings let air move through the mattress and help wick away moisture, so it generally sleeps cooler than foam.

What is the difference between the S1, S3, S5 and S7?

The S1 is the entry model with a sprung core and fibre comfort layers. The S3 adds Memory e-Fibre™ for pressure relief. The S5 is a hybrid with a micro pocket spring layer, and the S7 is a tri-brid combining memory fibre with micro pockets.

Which bed sizes does it fit?

Standard UK Single, Small Double, Double and King. It fits any frame, divan or ottoman in the same size.
