The Jay-Be Revolution with Memory e-Fibre™ mattress is a single guest bed for homes where the spare bed has to disappear between visits. Open, it gives a 200 x 77 cm sleeping area on a sprung base with a full-width headboard. Folded, it stands just 26 cm deep and 101 cm tall on four 360° castors, so it rolls into a cupboard, under the stairs or behind a door. It is made in the UK by Jay-Be and the frame carries a lifetime guarantee.

This is the mid-priced Revolution. It shares its frame with the Revolution with Rebound e-Fibre™ mattress, but adds a 1 cm Memory e-Fibre™ comfort layer on top for a softer, more cushioned first feel. If your guests stay for more than a night or two, or you use the bed often yourself, that extra layer is worth having.

The mattress

The 10 cm mattress (190 x 68 cm) is 100% foam-free. A body of breathable Rebound e-Fibre™ gives the support, and a thin Memory e-Fibre™ layer on top adds gentle pressure relief without the heat that memory foam can hold. The knitted cover is soft, hypoallergenic and free from harmful chemicals and VOCs. Jay-Be makes its e-Fibre™ from recycled plastic bottles, and the mattress is designed to be recycled at the end of its life.

The frame

• J-Tex™ sprung base: a woven fabric deck held under tension by springs around the frame, so the mattress is supported across its whole width rather than resting on a few bars.
• Full-width headboard in an oak-effect finish, made from FSC® certified wood, so pillows stay on the bed.
• Powder-coated steel frame with a durable finish.

Which Revolution should I choose?

All three Revolution beds use the same frame and fold to the same size. The Rebound e-Fibre™ version is the lowest-priced and suits occasional guests. This Memory e-Fibre™ version adds a softer top layer. The Micro e-Pocket™ sprung version has a pocket-sprung mattress for the most bed-like feel. Free delivery to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey, by courier to your door. It arrives fully built: unpack it, unfold it and it is ready to sleep on. We do not deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly.

Will a standard single mattress protector fit?

No. The mattress is 68 cm wide and 10 cm deep, narrower than a standard 90 cm single, so a standard protector will be loose. Jay-Be makes a waterproof protector sized for the Revolution mattress.

What is the difference between Memory e-Fibre™ and memory foam?

Memory e-Fibre™ is a fibre layer that gives a similar soft, pressure-relieving feel but lets air through, so it sleeps cooler and contains no foam.
