The Ella tub chair widened to two seats, keeping the thing that makes a tub a tub: back and arms formed as one continuous curve rather than assembled from separate parts. On a two seater that shape earns its keep twice over — there are no protruding arms, so a 121 centimetre sofa occupies almost exactly 121 centimetres of wall, which is not true of most sofas.

It sits on a contrasting antique wood plinth with elegant legs. That raised base is what stops a curved two seater looking like a bench: daylight underneath, visible structure, and a vacuum can get beneath it.

Honest about the size

At 121cm this is a compact two seater. Two adults fit, shoulder to shoulder. It is the right answer for a snug, a bay window, a flat, or a bedroom — and the wrong answer if you want two people to sit without touching.

The curved back also means it cannot sit flush into a corner the way a square-backed sofa can. Plan for it to stand slightly proud of the wall.

Caring for chenille

Vacuum weekly with a soft upholstery head. Brush the pile back one way if it starts to look patchy, and blot spills rather than rubbing — rubbing drives liquid into the base and flattens the tufts permanently.
