Brodie Console Table

The Brodie range is solid mango wood with a pale, lightly limed finish and thick, softly squared edges. No pattern, no contrast metalwork — it relies on the weight of the timber and the openness of the grain. Mango is a fast-growing timber, which is why it is affordable in solid form and why the grain is open and varied. Expect colour to move across a single piece.

Where it works

At 95 centimetres this is shorter than most consoles, which is the point — it fits the wall space between a door and a corner, where a 120cm piece would not. At 40cm deep it leaves a hallway walkable, and at 80cm tall it is a touch higher than average, so it clears the back of most sofas if you want to float it behind one.

In a hall it takes a lamp, a bowl and the post. In a living room behind a sofa it turns dead space into lighting. In a bedroom it works as a dressing table where a proper one will not fit.

Is 95cm short for a console? Shorter than most, deliberately. It fits wall runs that a 120cm console overhangs.
