Casey Console Table

Description

The Casey Console Table is a narrow solid mango wood table on a slim metal frame — 120cm long and only 40cm deep, which is the whole point of it. A console table earns its place by being useful in the depth of space nobody else can use: behind a sofa, along a hallway, under a window, against the wall in a dining room where a sideboard would block the walkway.

It comes in two finishes of the same timber. Black Mango Wood is stained dark so the grain reads as texture rather than colour, and it disappears against a dark wall. Almond Mango Wood is a pale, warm finish that shows the figure of the grain far more openly and lifts a dark hallway.

Where a 40cm depth actually helps

• Behind a sofa. At 77cm high it sits just above the back of most sofas, which is where you want lamps, a drink and a phone without reaching over.
• In a hallway. 40cm still leaves a clear walkway in a standard 90cm hall, where a 60cm sideboard does not.
• Under a window. 120 x 40cm fits most standard bay and single-window runs without fouling the reveal.
• As a dressing table. Deep enough for a mirror and a tray, shallow enough not to crowd a bedroom.

Mango wood

Mango is a dense hardwood with an open, varied grain — no two tops are identical, and the differences are the point rather than a fault. It takes a stain well, which is why the same timber gives two finishes this different. It is a hardwood, so it will take everyday knocks, but like any solid timber it does not like standing water or a radiator directly beneath it.

This is a pre-order. Kyoto launch the Casey Console Table on 22 September 2026, and stock reaches us shortly after. You can order it now and we will dispatch it as soon as our stock lands. Questions we are asked most

Will it fit behind my sofa?

Measure the height of your sofa back. The Casey is 77cm to the top. If your sofa back is lower than that, the table will sit proud of it, which is what you want for lamps. If your sofa back is higher, the table will be hidden and a taller console is the better buy.

Is the wood solid or veneered?

Solid mango wood. The grain you can see on the top runs through the timber.

What is the difference between the two finishes?

Only the stain — same table, same timber. Black reads as a dark textured surface with the grain visible close up. Almond is pale and warm and shows the grain plainly from across the room.

Does it come assembled?

No. It arrives flat packed with the top, the frame and a fixing kit. It is a straightforward assembly with a screwdriver or allen key.
