Quest Q3: Jay-Be’s top children’s mattress for the growing years

The Jay-Be Quest Q3 Epic Comfort is the most supportive mattress in the Quest children’s range. It is made for children who have outgrown a basic sprung mattress: older primary-age children, tweens and teenagers, whose weight and sleeping positions are changing quickly. Two spring layers do the work. A deep e-Pocket™ core gives firm, responsive support that keeps the spine aligned, and a Micro e-Pocket™ layer above it adds a softer, cushioned feel at the surface.

Like every Jay-Be children’s mattress it is 100% foam free. The comfort layers are e-Fibre™, a breathable fibre filling that does not trap heat the way foam can, so it suits children who run warm at night.

The mattress is naturally fire retardant, so it meets UK fire-safety rules without added chemical treatments, and the cover fabric is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified. Hypoallergenic materials help reduce the risk of allergic reactions.

Easy to live with

The Quest Q3 is a non-flip mattress: rotate it head to toe every few weeks for even wear, but there is no need to turn it over. It arrives vacuum-packed and rolled, so it fits through narrow doorways and up tight stairs. Unwrap it on the bed and give it a few hours to recover its full 19 cm depth before use.

Jay-Be makes the Quest range in the UK from recycled and recyclable materials, in a zero-to-landfill factory powered by certified renewable energy. Each mattress carries a 5-year manufacturer’s guarantee.

Which Quest is right?

The Quest Q1 uses a deep open-coil e-Spring™ unit and is the value choice. The Quest Q2 moves up to a deep e-Pocket™ core. The Q3 adds the Micro e-Pocket™ layer on top of that, giving the most supportive and most cushioned feel of the three. If your child is moving from a cot bed or toddler bed, a lighter mattress from the Simply Kids range may suit them better for the first few years.

Free delivery to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey, by courier to your door. Because the mattress is rolled, it is easy to carry upstairs. We do not deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly.

Frequently asked questions

What size is the Quest Q3?

It is a standard UK single, 90 × 190 cm, and 19 cm deep. It fits any UK single bed frame, including cabin beds and high sleepers, as long as the bed’s guard rail is high enough above a 19 cm mattress.

Can it go on a bunk bed?

Check your bunk’s maximum mattress depth first. Many top bunks are designed for mattresses up to about 15–16 cm so that the guard rail stays high enough. If yours is, choose a dedicated bunk mattress for the top bunk and use the Q3 on the bottom bunk.

Is it suitable for a child with allergies?

It is made from hypoallergenic materials, is completely foam free and has an OEKO-TEX® certified cover. Pair it with a washable mattress protector and wash bedding regularly for the best results.

How long does it take to expand after unrolling?

It starts recovering as soon as it is unwrapped. Leave it for a few hours, ideally overnight, before your child sleeps on it.
