Nora Upholstered Bed Frame
A rectangular headboard with softly rounded edges, fully upholstered in textured boucle, sitting on warm wood legs. It is a quiet design — no buttoning, no channelling, no winged sides — and it relies on the fabric and the proportion rather than on detailing.
Two colours. Natural is a warm off-white that reads as light without being stark. Olive is a muted green that works where a neutral would disappear. Both are boucle, which is worth understanding before you choose.
Living with boucle
Boucle is a looped yarn, and the loops are what give it that soft, nubbly surface. The texture hides light marks and creasing far better than a flat weave — useful on a headboard, which gets leaned against every night. The trade is that loops snag: a claw, a ring, a sharp zip on a bag left on the bed.
If a loop pulls, do not cut it. Ease it back into the weave with a blunt needle or the tip of a pen. Vacuum with a soft brush head rather than a beater bar.
The legs are the detail worth noticing
Fully upholstered beds usually sit on the floor or on stubby matching feet, which makes them look heavy. The Nora is raised on warm wood legs, so there is daylight underneath. In a small bedroom that visible floor space is the difference between a bed that fills the room and one that sits in it.
It also means you can get a vacuum under it, which the floor-standing alternative does not allow.

Questions people ask
Does it need a separate bed base? No. It is a slatted frame, so a mattress goes straight on.
What mattress size do I need? Double 4ft 6 takes a 135 x 190cm mattress. King 5ft takes 150 x 200cm.
Is there storage underneath? No drawers, but the leg height leaves usable space for boxes.
Will boucle wear on a headboard? It wears well against leaning and hides marks. Claws and sharp objects are the risk, not use.
Can I clean it? Vacuum with a soft head and spot-clean. Do not soak it — upholstery foam holds water.
