Description
The Kudl Mid Sleeper with Desk, Bookcase and Toybox turns the space under a single bed into a den. Up top is a comfortable sleeping deck with a full guard rail; underneath is a mini desk for drawing and homework, an open cube bookcase and a toybox that slides out for tidy-up time. It is a bedroom, a play area and a storage solution in one piece of furniture.
Bright white keeps a small room feeling airy and works with any bedding, whether your child is into dinosaurs, football or unicorns this year. It is a popular Christmas surprise, because the space underneath gives a child a corner that is entirely their own.
Underneath the bed
- Built-in mini desk at one end, sized for younger children to draw, colour and read.
- Open cube bookcase along the back wall for books, baskets and favourite toys.
- Movable toybox that pulls out from under the bookcase and pushes back in when the toys are put away.
- Ladder at the foot end with three steady treads and cut-out handholds in the side panel.
The right height for younger children
At 120 cm overall, a mid sleeper keeps your child within easy reach for stories, cuddles and changing the bedding, while still lifting the bed high enough to create a play and study space underneath. It suits rooms with standard or sloping ceilings where a high sleeper would be too tall.
Mattress
The bed takes a standard UK single mattress, 90 x 190 cm, sold separately. Choose a children’s mattress of moderate depth so the guard rail stays comfortably above the sleeping surface. Matching single mattresses are suggested below this listing.

Safety at height
Raised beds are designed for children aged six and over, in line with the guidance that accompanies EN 747 for upper sleeping surfaces. Use a mattress that leaves the guard rail standing well above the sleeping surface, check the fixings every few months, and keep the ladder clear of toys at night. Younger siblings should not play on the upper level.
Assembly and care
Every Kudl bed arrives flat packed with labelled parts, fittings and step-by-step instructions. Two adults make assembly easier, and it is best to build the bed in the room where it will stay, because the finished frame is large. Re-tighten the fittings after the first few weeks and then every few months. Wipe the white surfaces with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry them straight away; avoid abrasive pads, bleach and solvent cleaners, which can mark the finish. Keep the bed a little way from radiators so the panels are not exposed to direct heat.
Delivery
Delivery is free to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey. We are unable to deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly. The bed arrives flat packed in several boxes, and we will contact you to confirm your delivery window before it leaves the warehouse. If it is planned as a Christmas present, ordering early leaves time to build it before the big day.
