The bed is 198 cm long, 96 cm wide and 160 cm high to the top of the roof. Allow extra room at the ladder end: with the ladder in place the footprint at that end is about 130 cm deep. Safety at height

Raised beds are designed for children aged six and over, in line with the guidance that accompanies EN 747 for upper sleeping surfaces. Check the fixings every few months, keep the ladder clear of toys at night and do not let younger siblings play on the upper level.

The bed arrives flat packed with the fittings and step-by-step instructions. Two adults make assembly easier, and it is best to build it in the room where it will stay. Re-tighten the bolts after the first few weeks of use and then every few months, because solid wood settles slightly as it acclimatises to a centrally heated home. Wipe the painted surfaces with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry them straight away; avoid bleach, solvent cleaners and abrasive pads, which can dull or chip the paint. Keep the frame a little way from radiators so the timber is not exposed to direct heat.
