Description
A guest bed that is comfortable enough for regular use
The Jay-Be Supreme Single Folding Bed with Micro e-Pocket™ Mattress is the folding bed to choose when guests stay more than the odd night. Instead of the thin foam pad found on budget fold-outs, it carries a proper pocket-sprung mattress with around 400 individual springs, laid on Jay-Be’s J-Tex™ sprung base rather than a sheet of mesh. The frame opens on fully automatic legs, rolls on four 360° castors, and folds upright to stand in a cupboard, under the stairs or in the corner of a home office.
It suits a spare room that doubles as a study, grown-up children home for the holidays, grandparents who visit for a week, carers who stay over, and households that need a second bed without giving up floor space every day.
How it works
Unlock the strap, tip the bed down and the legs fold out automatically as the frame opens, so there are no loose parts or catches to find. A full-width headboard in an oak-effect finish, made from FSC®-certified wood, stops the pillow sliding off, and a raised foot end keeps the mattress in place. To put it away, lift the foot end, let the legs fold in and stand the bed on its castors with the mattress left in place. It can be moved by one adult.
The mattress
- Micro e-Pocket™ spring unit: roughly 400 small pocket springs that move independently, so the mattress follows the shape of the sleeper instead of dipping in the middle.
- Rebound e-Fibre™ comfort layers: a breathable, 100% foam-free filling made from recycled plastic bottles, hypoallergenic and free from harmful chemicals and VOCs.
- Hand-tufted, quilted top: the traditional tufts hold the fillings in place, so the surface stays even after repeated folding.
- J-Tex™ sprung base: a sprung platform under the mattress that adds give and spreads the load across the steel frame.
Is the single the right size?
Open, the bed measures 78 cm wide and 197 cm long, with the sleeping surface about 40.5 cm from the floor, close to the height of a normal divan. That is a little narrower than a standard UK single (90 cm) but longer than most folding beds, so tall adults are comfortable. If two people will share it, or you want more room to turn over, choose the Supreme Small Double (122 cm wide) instead. Allow floor space of about 2 m by 0.8 m when the bed is open.

Frequently asked questions
Can it be used every night?
Jay-Be designs the Supreme for regular use, and the pocket-sprung mattress and sprung base make it far more comfortable than a basic fold-out. For a permanent main bed, a full-size bed and mattress will still last longer.
Does it need assembling?
No. It is delivered fully assembled with the mattress attached. Open it, add bedding and it is ready.
Can I fold it away with the bedding on?
Light bedding such as a fitted sheet can stay on. Remove the pillow and duvet before folding so the strap closes properly.
Is there a cover to keep it clean when stored?
Jay-Be makes a fitted storage cover for the Supreme single that keeps dust off between visits.
How is this different from the Supreme with the Comfort mattress?
The frame is the same. This version has a pocket-sprung mattress, which gives more individual support and suits regular use; the Comfort version has a fibre-filled mattress and costs less.
