The Jay-Be Crown Premier Folding Bed with Deep Sprung Mattress is built for guest houses, hotels, holiday lets and care settings where an extra bed is used week in, week out, and it is just as good at home if you want a guest bed that feels like a proper single. The mattress is 18 cm deep, almost twice the depth of a typical folding-bed mattress, with a high-density deep spring interior that spreads weight evenly, so guests sleep on the mattress rather than feeling the frame.

On top of the springs is a performance layer of lambswool. Wool naturally improves the mattress’s fire resistance and wicks moisture away, which helps regulate temperature through the night. The other comfort layers are 100% foam-free Rebound e-Fibre™, and the cover is a hand-tufted, high-performance contract-standard fabric. The mattress rests on Jay-Be’s J-Tex™ sprung base system, a deck of high-tension springs that adds support and durability.

Crown Premier or Crown Windermere?

Both share the same frame and a deep sprung mattress. The Crown Windermere adds a waterproof mattress, which suits care homes, children and holiday lets where spills are likely. The Crown Premier, with its lambswool layer, is the more comfortable choice for adult guests.

Setting up and storing

The bed comes assembled with the mattress fitted. Wheel it into position, lower the bed and the automatic legs swing down and lock. To store it, lift the foot end and the legs fold away as the bed closes; the mattress folds in half inside the frame. Folded, it stands 92 cm high on its castors. Wipe the frame clean and air the mattress between guests.

Delivery

Free delivery to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey, by courier to your door. It arrives in one carton (25 × 81 × 110 cm, 33.5 kg), so two people are best for carrying it in. We do not deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly.

Is the Crown Premier suitable for hotels and guest houses?

Yes. Jay-Be designed it for regular contract use. It exceeds British, European and North American safety standards and the frame wipes clean.

How deep is the mattress?

18 cm, with a deep spring interior and a lambswool layer, much deeper than the 10 cm mattresses on most folding beds.

How wide is it compared with a normal single?

The mattress is 76 cm wide and 190 cm long, narrower than a standard UK single (90 cm), so it fits in smaller rooms and folds compactly. Standard single bedding fits it.

Does the mattress contain wool?

Yes, a layer of lambswool sits over the springs. The other comfort layers are foam-free e-Fibre™. If anyone in your household avoids wool, choose the Crown Windermere instead.

How much space does it take when folded?

92 cm high, 76 cm wide and 53 cm deep, on castors.
