A fixed back, deliberately
The Hudson has a fixed, fully upholstered back rather than loose scatter cushions. It is the less fashionable choice and the more practical one: a fixed back keeps its shape without anybody plumping it, which matters in a room where the sofa is actually used every evening rather than admired. If you have ever spent five minutes rearranging cushions before guests arrive, this is the sofa that stops that.
Double sprung seat
Underneath the seat cushions is a double sprung unit rather than webbing alone. Sprung seats cost more to build and they are the difference between a sofa that still sits level in year five and one that has developed a dip where everybody sits. On a sofa at this price, it is the specification worth knowing about.
Square arms, low back
Simple squared arms and a 65cm back height give the Hudson a low, horizontal line. That is useful in a smaller room — a low back keeps the wall visible above it and makes the space read larger than a high-backed sofa would.

Delivery
Free delivery to England and Wales mainland. We do not currently deliver to the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland or the offshore islands.
Measure before you order
A three and two piece set is easier to place than a corner group, but it still needs planning. Measure the wall the three seater will sit against, then decide where the two seater goes — facing it, or at right angles. Facing works in a long room; at right angles works better in a square one and keeps the television sightline clear for both.
Check your narrowest doorway, and measure it diagonally as well as straight across.
Fabric and care
Vacuum weekly with an upholstery head. Rotate the seat cushions so the two most-used seats do not wear ahead of the rest, and plump the backs after use rather than once a month — fibre-filled backs look tired far more quickly than they wear out.
Delivery
Delivered free to mainland England and Wales. We do not currently deliver to the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland or the offshore islands. Large upholstery is delivered in sections wherever the design allows, which makes a narrow hallway or a turn on the stairs far less of a problem.
Questions people ask
Can the two pieces be bought separately? Ask us and we will check what the supplier allows.
How many does it seat in total? Five adults across the two pieces.
What is the seat height? Standard sofa height. If someone in the house struggles to get up from a low seat, tell us and we will confirm the exact figure before you order.
Does it suit a smaller room? A three and two is usually the better choice over a corner group in a room under about 4m wide, because you can split the pieces.
Are the cushions removable? The seat cushions lift out, which makes vacuuming underneath straightforward.
