Description
Cooper Mid-Century Corner Sofa in Dolphin Boucle
The Aluxo Cooper takes the clean lines of mid-century design and builds them into a full corner sofa with a chaise. It sits on a raised dark wooden plinth with tapered legs, with squared arms, a channel-stitched back and deep seat cushions, all covered in a tight-weave dolphin boucle. The result is a sofa that looks crisp and architectural from across the room but is soft and generous when you sit in it.
Mid-century lines
Mid-century furniture is defined by simple shapes, honest materials and a sense of lightness. The Cooper follows that brief. The wooden plinth lifts the body off the floor so the sofa does not look bulky, the edges are squared rather than rolled, and nothing is added for decoration. It sits comfortably with teak or walnut sideboards, globe lighting, rugs with geometric patterns and plain painted walls, but it is just as at home in a pared-back contemporary room.
Dolphin boucle, tight weave
Many boucle fabrics have a large, loose loop. The Cooper uses a tighter weave, which gives a smoother, more hard-wearing surface that is less likely to snag on buttons, jewellery or claws while keeping the soft, textured feel boucle is known for. Dolphin is a muted grey with a soft blue-grey undertone, calm and easy to decorate around.
Deep seats you sink into
The seat cushions are 64 cm deep, so you can sit back properly or tuck your feet up, and the chaise gives one person room to stretch out fully. Foam filling over a wooden frame keeps the seat supportive and helps it recover its shape after use. Four scatter cushions are included.
Left hand or right hand
The Cooper corner is made in a left hand and a right hand version, so the chaise can sit on whichever side suits your room. When you order, please tell us which hand you need in the order notes. Makers describe hand in different ways, so before dispatch we will confirm your choice with you, with a picture, so there is no doubt which side the chaise will be on.

Cooper corner sofa: questions and answers
How big is the Cooper corner sofa?
292 cm wide, 182 cm deep at the chaise, 91 cm deep along the main sofa and 75 cm high, with a 49 cm seat height.
How do I choose left or right hand?
Decide which side of the room you want the chaise on, add it to the order notes, and we will confirm it with you, with a picture, before dispatch.
Is there a Cooper 3 seater?
Not at the moment. The Cooper is currently available as a corner sofa only.
Does boucle bobble or snag?
The Cooper’s tight weave is smoother and more hard-wearing than loose-loop boucle, so it is less prone to snagging. Vacuum with a soft brush and blot spills promptly.
Do you deliver to Scotland?
No. We deliver free to mainland England and Wales, including Anglesey, but not to Scotland, Northern Ireland or the islands listed above.
