Description
The Apley Carson is an entry-point mattress from our Eden range, made for the beds that are not slept in every night — a spare room, a bunk, a first bed for a child moving out of a cot.
It is supplied in small single and single only, which is exactly what those beds take, and it sits between the Titan and the Rupert in our range: a little more than the cheapest option, noticeably less than a main-bedroom mattress.
Sizes available
This mattress is made in 2 sizes. UK bed sizes are standard, so these are the dimensions you can expect:
- Small Single 2ft 6 — 75 x 190 cm (2’6” x 6’3”)
- Single 3ft — 90 x 190 cm (3’0” x 6’3”)
Where it fits in the range
If this is going on a bed someone sleeps in every night, look at the Rupert or the Quinn Ortho instead — a mattress that does 365 nights a year deserves more than an occasional-use build. For a bunk, a trundle, a caravan or a spare room that sees a dozen nights a year, the Carson is the sensible spend.
Measure your existing base before ordering rather than trusting the label on the old mattress. UK sizes have been standard for decades, but mattresses bought abroad or before the 1990s can differ in both width and length.
Delivery
We deliver to mainland England and Wales. We do not currently deliver to the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands or the Scottish islands. Delivery is arranged directly with you once your order is placed.
Delivery
Delivered free to mainland England and Wales. We do not currently deliver to the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland or the offshore islands. Mattresses are delivered rolled and boxed where the construction allows it, which makes them far easier to carry upstairs and through a narrow doorway.
Questions people ask
How firm is it? It is a medium feel — supportive rather than soft. That suits most back and side sleepers and is the safest choice if two people with different preferences share the bed.
Does it need turning? Rotate it head to foot every few months to even out wear. It does not need flipping.
Will it fit a standard bed frame or divan? Yes. It is built to standard UK sizes, so it will sit correctly on a UK divan base or a slatted frame.
How long does it take to recover after unboxing? Allow up to 48 hours for a rolled mattress to reach its full height. A slight new-product smell for the first day or two is normal and passes with airing.
What if it is not right for me? See our returns policy. Mattresses that have been slept on cannot be resold, so we ask that you keep the packaging until you are sure.
Can I use it on an adjustable bed? Check the specification before ordering — not every spring construction flexes safely on an adjustable base. Contact us and we will confirm for your frame.
