Oslo Oversized Cinema Sofa

Price range: £910.99 through £1,262.99

An oversized cinema sofa with a 165cm-deep chaise, in two piece (8ft) or three piece (11ft), across ten fabrics. Free delivery to England and Wales mainland.

Description

Built to lie on, not sit up in

The Oslo is a cinema sofa, and the specification that makes it one is the chaise: 165cm deep, which is long enough for an adult to stretch out full length rather than tuck their legs up. The main body runs 100cm deep. Put together, this is furniture for a film, not for a formal sitting room — and it is honest about that.

The back sits at 80cm with a low, padded profile. There are no scatter cushions to arrange and no fixed upright back to fight; you sink into it.

Two sizes, both large

  • 2 Piece — 8ft (approximately 244cm) wide
  • 3 Piece — 11ft (approximately 335cm) wide

Both share the same 100cm depth, 165cm chaise depth and 80cm height. The three piece is a serious amount of sofa; measure the room and the route in before committing to it.

Ten fabrics

Steel grey, silver grey, grey, mottled grey, ebony black and dark suede cover the neutrals. Burnt orange, emerald green, marine blue and mustard are the ones that make the sofa the room. Because the Oslo occupies so much floor area, the colour decision matters more here than on a conventional three seater — ask us for a swatch if you are between two.

Availability

Fabric availability moves. Combinations shown as out of stock are exactly that — we mirror our supplier daily rather than take orders we cannot fill.

What an oversized cinema sofa is for

Oversized means deeper than a standard sofa, not just longer. The point of the extra depth is that you can sit back with your legs up rather than perched forward — which is why these sell into rooms built around a television rather than around conversation.

That depth has a consequence worth knowing before you buy: a deep seat is less comfortable for anyone who likes to sit upright with their feet on the floor, unless you use a back cushion to bring the seat forward.

Measure before you order

Depth is the number people forget. Measure from the wall into the room and check you still have 60cm of walking space in front of the sofa once it is in. Then check your narrowest doorway, diagonally as well as straight across.

Delivery

Delivered free to mainland England and Wales. We do not currently deliver to the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland or the offshore islands. Large upholstery is delivered in sections wherever the design allows, which makes a narrow hallway or a turn on the stairs far less of a problem.

Questions people ask

How deep is the seat? Deeper than standard — ask us for the exact figure and we will confirm before you order.

Is it too deep for a shorter person? It can be. A firm back cushion solves it and most people end up using one anyway.

Does it come apart? It is delivered in sections and assembled in the room.

Can I lie full length on it? That is largely the point of the design.

Does the depth make it hard to get out of? Deeper seats are harder to rise from than shallow ones. Worth considering if mobility is a factor in the house.
