Mitch Swivel Chair

Description

Mitch swivel chair: a rounded chenille armchair that turns with you

The Mitch swivel chair is a soft, sculpted armchair on a hidden swivel base, so it turns smoothly to face the television, the fire or whoever has just walked into the room. Its shape is all curves: deep rounded arms that wrap the seat, a thick seat cushion and a plump, removable back cushion. Upholstered in a tactile chenille with a gentle sheen, it looks as inviting as it feels, and it is one of the most comfortable ways to add an extra seat to a living room.

Mitch is made by Kyoto, the British furniture supplier voted Best Sofa Bed Supplier in the Furniture News Readers’ Choice awards 2026. It arrives fully assembled, so it is ready to use as soon as it is unpacked.

Design and comfort

The padded arms are wide and rounded, giving you a soft place to rest an elbow or lean into a corner with a book. The seat is generously filled for a cushioned, sink-in sit, and the separate back cushion can be moved or plumped to suit how upright you like to sit. Because the swivel mechanism sits low and out of sight beneath the chair, the base looks like a solid upholstered block, which keeps the shape clean from every angle.

A swivel chair is especially useful in open-plan rooms: one chair can face the sofa for conversation, then turn towards the kitchen, the window or the television without being dragged across the floor.

Two chenille colours

• Distressed Olive Chenille: a deep, earthy green with a softly mottled texture. It adds warmth to cream, white or natural wood schemes and works well with mid-century and rustic styles.
• Natural Soft Chenille: a light, creamy off-white with a fine, cosy texture. It brightens a room and suits Scandi, minimal and neutral interiors.

Chenille has a soft pile, so vacuum it gently with an upholstery brush and blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth rather than rubbing.

Delivery

Delivery is free to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey. We do not deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly. Mitch arrives fully assembled and weighs 32kg, so two people make carrying it in much easier. As it is already built and 105.5cm wide, please measure doorways, hallways and stair turns before ordering; the chair normally goes through a door on its side or back.

For a smaller swivel tub, compare the Tulip swivel tub chair or the Micky swivel chair. For a more tailored look, see the Beatrice swivel chair, or for a fixed armchair in a similar soft shape, the Suzie barrel armchair. You can also browse every chair or the full Kyoto range.
