The Jay-Be Simply Kids Anti-Allergy Foam Free e-Pocket® Sprung Mattress is the top model in Jay-Be’s Simply Kids range. It combines two things parents of allergy-prone children look for: a fabric treated with Purotex®, a probiotic technology that reduces dust-mite allergens, and a construction with no foam at all, so there is no foam smell and nothing for off-gassing to come from. Underneath, a deep layer of individual e-Pocket® springs moves with your child as they turn, giving more responsive support than the open-coil springs in the cheaper Simply Kids models.

Unpacking and care
Carry the roll into your child’s room before opening it. Lay it on the bed, cut the outer wrap carefully with the blade facing away from the cover, and let it unroll. Allow 24 to 48 hours in a ventilated room for it to reach full depth before it is slept on. Rotate it head to toe every few weeks for the first three months and every three months after that. A breathable, washable mattress protector will keep it clean without blocking the airflow the foam-free layers rely on.

Frequently asked questions
Is this mattress suitable for a child with asthma or a dust-mite allergy?
It is designed with them in mind. The Purotex® fabric reduces dust-mite allergens and the mattress contains no foam. No mattress can guarantee a child will have no symptoms, so follow your GP’s advice as well.
What age is it for?
It is a full UK single, so it suits children from around three years old who have moved out of a cot bed or toddler bed, right up to teenagers. For toddler beds, choose a 70 × 140 cm toddler mattress instead.
Can I use it on a bunk bed?
At 18 cm deep it is too deep for the top bunk of most bunk beds, which usually need a mattress of 15–16 cm or less to keep the guard rail effective. Check your bed’s maximum mattress depth, or choose the Simply Kids Anti-Allergy Bunk Mattress.
Does it need to be flipped?
Rotate it head to toe regularly to keep wear even. Check the label on delivery to see whether it is designed to be turned over as well.
Does it have a smell when unpacked?
Because it is foam-free there is no foam smell. Any packaging smell clears within a day or two in a ventilated room.
