The Jay-Be J-Bed Small Double with Anti-Allergy Pocket Sprung Mattress is the folding bed to choose when a guest bed has to feel like a real bed. Open, it measures 204 × 123 cm, longer and wider than a standard UK small double bed frame, and the mattress alone is 199 × 118 cm. That is enough room for two adults, or for one tall guest to stretch out, and it is why hotels and B&Bs use the J-Bed as an extra bed.

The mattress has 600 individual micro e-Pocket springs that move independently, so one sleeper turning over disturbs the other far less than on an open-coil folding bed. The cover is hand tufted and treated with Purotex®, a natural probiotic treatment that absorbs moisture and reduces dust-mite allergens, and the comfort layers are 100% foam-free Rebound e-Fibre™. Underneath sits a traditional sprung slatted base, which flexes with the mattress the way a slatted bed frame does at home.

This Small Double with the anti-allergy pocket sprung mattress is the top of the range. The J-Bed Anti-Allergy Single uses the same mattress at 96 cm wide for one guest. If allergy protection and pocket springs matter less, the J-Bed Small Double with Comfort Mattress has the same frame for less.

Setting up and storing

The bed arrives assembled with the mattress fitted. Wheel it to where you want it, release the J-Lok™ and lower one half, then the other. Fold it back the same way and it stands upright on its castors, 38 cm deep, with the mattress held inside the frame. At 42 kg it is best moved on its wheels rather than carried, and we suggest two people for stairs. Air the mattress between uses and wipe the frame with a damp cloth.

Delivery

Free delivery to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey, by courier to your door. It arrives in one carton (39 × 126 × 117 cm, 46.2 kg), so please have two people available to bring it in. We do not deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly.

Will two adults fit on the J-Bed Small Double?

Yes. The mattress is 118 cm wide and 199 cm long: 2 cm narrower but 9 cm longer than a standard UK small double mattress (120 × 190 cm), so two adults can share it comfortably for a few nights.

Is it suitable for people with allergies?

The mattress cover is treated with Purotex®, which absorbs moisture and reduces dust-mite allergens, and the materials are hypoallergenic and foam-free. It is a good choice for guests with dust-mite allergies or asthma.

How heavy is it to move?

The bed weighs 42 kg. It rolls easily on its 360° castors when folded, and the J-Lok™ lets you open it one side at a time.

How much storage space does it need?

Folded it is 112 cm high, 123 cm wide and 38 cm deep. Measure your cupboard or alcove width before ordering.
