The Jay-Be GP80 Grand Folding Bed is the single bed in Jay-Be’s Grand range: a full-length 80 cm wide guest bed with a hand-tufted pocket sprung mattress, a headboard and footboard, and a frame that folds upright to just 24 cm deep. It is built for homes that host family over Christmas, grandchildren at weekends or a lodger who needs a proper bed rather than an airbed, and it is strong enough for regular use as well as occasional guests.

The mattress has a micro pocket spring core between two breathable e-Fibre™ comfort layers, so each spring moves on its own and the bed follows the sleeper’s shape instead of sagging in the middle like a cheap camp bed. It sits on Jay-Be’s Mono-Tex™ platform base, a taut woven fabric deck that gives a firm, even foundation. The frame is zinc-coated steel, it stands on J-Grip™ anti-tip legs, and four 360° castors (two with foot locks) let one person wheel it from cupboard to bedroom. Jay-Be says it opens or folds in under 60 seconds.

Setting up and storing

The bed arrives fully assembled with the mattress fitted. Unlock the castors, tilt the bed down and let the legs swing into place; the J-Grip™ legs lock as the bed opens. To put it away, lift the foot end and fold it back upright, then wheel it into a cupboard or behind a door. A fitted cover or old duvet cover keeps dust off between visits. Wipe the frame with a damp cloth and air the mattress occasionally.

Delivery

Free delivery to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey, by courier to your door. It is delivered folded in one carton (25 × 81 × 110 cm, 21.1 kg), so one person can bring it in. We do not deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly.

Is the mattress included and can I replace it?

The pocket sprung mattress is included and fitted to the frame. It is 190 × 73 cm, narrower than a standard UK single, because it is sized to fold inside the frame, so use the matching Jay-Be Grand mattress if it ever needs replacing.
