Elegance Snuggler Sofa Bed with Deep e-Sprung™ Mattress

Description

A statement armchair that hides a sprung guest bed

The Jay-Be Elegance Snuggler is the chair bed for people who want the chair to look good first. Tall, outward-angled arms and a wide 131 cm seat give it the presence of a proper snuggle chair, big enough to curl up in or share with a child. When a guest stays, it folds out into a single bed with a 195 x 76 cm deep-sprung, wool-topped mattress built in. The seat and back cushions ride along on the mechanism, so there is nothing to unload first.

Jay-Be hand-upholsters every Elegance Snuggler to order in the UK, in any of 26 fabrics, and backs it with a lifetime frame guarantee and a 5-year mattress guarantee.

Why choose a snuggler bed over a sofa bed

A two-seater sofa bed needs a wall of its own. A snuggler takes the space of a large armchair, so it fits in a bay window, a bedroom corner or beside an existing sofa, yet it still sleeps one adult on a real sprung mattress. For many homes that only need a spare bed a few times a year, it is the better use of space and money.

The mattress

The built-in mattress is a Deep e-Sprung™ unit, not a foam pad. A Deep e-Spring™ core sits between high-density e-Fibre™ layers, with breathable e-Fibre™ support layers and a wool comfort layer on each side, inside a viscose-enriched cover. The wool wicks moisture so the bed stays fresh, and the fibre fillings let air flow. It is treated with a natural salt-based fire retardant and is fully recyclable at the end of its life.

Frequently asked questions

Can two people sit in the Elegance Snuggler?

At 131 cm wide it is a generous “chair and a half”. It seats one adult with room to curl up, or an adult and a small child together. It sleeps one person when open.

How much space do I need to open it?

Allow about 215 cm of floor length from the back of the chair and 131 cm of width.

Is the bed suitable for adults?

Yes. The 195 cm long sleeping area suits most adults, and the deep sprung mattress gives proper support. At 76 cm wide it is narrower than a standard 90 cm single, so it is best for one sleeper.

Do the cushions need to come off?

No. The fold-out mechanism keeps the seat and back cushions in place.

Why is it made to order?

Jay-Be builds and upholsters each chair by hand in the UK in your chosen fabric, which is how it can offer 26 colours. Allow 4–6 weeks from order to delivery.
