Description
The Jay-Be Benchmark S7 mattress is the top model in Jay-Be’s Benchmark range: a 21cm-deep “tri-brid” that combines a deep e-Spring core, a layer of Micro e-Pocket springs and Memory e-Fibre, from £184.99 for a single. It has no foam, is made in the UK and arrives roll-packed. It comes in single, small double, double and king, with a 5-year guarantee.
What “tri-brid” means on the Benchmark S7 mattress
Most hybrids pair one spring unit with foam. The S7 uses three support elements instead:
- Deep e-Spring core: the base spring unit that spreads your weight evenly across the mattress.
- Micro e-Pocket springs: a layer of small individually pocketed springs above the core that react to where you press, so a partner turning over is felt less.
- Memory e-Fibre: a fibre layer that moulds to pressure points in a similar way to memory foam, but is not foam.
Above and below those sit Advance e-Fibre and Rebound e-Fibre comfort layers, a high-density eco insulator and base layer, a padded border and handles, all under a soft knitted cover. Jay-Be makes its Advance e-Fibre from recycled plastic bottles.

Benchmark S7 vs the rest of the Benchmark range
The Benchmark range runs from S1 to S7. The higher the number, the more layers and support you get:
- Benchmark S1: the entry model, a breathable sprung mattress for a guest room or a tight budget.
- Benchmark S3: adds a memory comfort layer.
- Benchmark S5: a hybrid step up.
- Benchmark S7: the only one with the extra Micro e-Pocket layer, for people who want the most support and least partner disturbance in the range.
If you want a deeper pocket sprung mattress, compare it with the Bio Fresh Hybrid 2000, or read our guide to pocket sprung mattresses. All our options are in hybrid mattresses.
Unpacking and care
Unroll the mattress on the bed, remove the packaging carefully and allow a few hours for it to regain its full shape. Rotate it head to foot every few weeks for the first three months, then every three months. Use a mattress protector to keep the cover clean.
