Description
Bedtime feels like camping in this teepee toddler bed. Natural wood legs cross at the top like the poles of a tent, white rails run between them, and the slatted base sits just above the floor so your toddler can climb in and out without help. It is a cosy, confidence-building first bed for the move out of a cot, and a magical one when it is dressed with fairy lights or a soft canopy.
The mix of white and natural wood suits both a neutral nursery and a brightly coloured toddler room, and the open frame keeps the space feeling light. It makes a memorable Christmas present for a little one who is ready for a bed of their own.
Why a teepee bed works for toddlers
- Low slatted base, so a toddler can get in and out on their own and a roll out of bed is a short one.
- Cot bed mattress size, 140 x 70 cm, so you may be able to reuse the mattress from your cot bed.
- Open tent frame ready for lights, bunting or a light fabric throw.
- Compact footprint of 144 x 81 cm that fits a small bedroom or nursery.
Mattress
The bed takes a standard 140 x 70 cm cot bed or toddler mattress, sold separately. Choose a firm, breathable mattress that fits snugly with no gap around the edges. Matching toddler mattresses are suggested below this listing.
Safety
A floor-level toddler bed has no side guard rails, which is part of its appeal for independent toddlers. Some parents add a soft rug alongside for the first few weeks. Never attach a canopy or lights within reach of the child, and use only low-heat LED lights kept away from bedding.

Assembly and care
The bed arrives flat packed with the fittings and step-by-step instructions. Two adults make assembly easier, and it is best to build it in the room where it will stay. Re-tighten the bolts after the first few weeks of use and then every few months, because solid wood settles slightly as it acclimatises to a centrally heated home. Wipe the painted surfaces with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry them straight away; avoid bleach, solvent cleaners and abrasive pads, which can dull or chip the paint. Keep the frame a little way from radiators so the timber is not exposed to direct heat.
Delivery
Delivery is free to mainland England and mainland Wales, including Anglesey. We are unable to deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight or the Isles of Scilly. The bed arrives flat packed, and we will contact you to confirm your delivery window before it leaves the warehouse. If it is planned as a Christmas present, ordering early leaves time to build it before the big day.
