Aegean Blue velvet
Aegean Blue is a deep, slightly grey-leaning blue: dark enough to be practical, blue enough not to read as black. Velvet pile catches light differently from each angle, so the colour shifts as you walk past. That depth is why a photograph never quite does a velvet sofa justice, and why pile shading after use is normal rather than a fault.
A scatter back, not a fixed one

Styling a blue velvet sofa

Brush the pile in one direction with a soft clothes brush to keep it even. Blot spills rather than rubbing or soaking them. Keep the sofa out of strong direct sunlight, which fades dyed pile unevenly. Plump the scatter cushions after use to keep the back looking full.
