Description
The Quant Wall Shelf is a long, chunky floating shelf, 155cm wide, in Arte-N’s Oak Artisan and black industrial finish. It gets books, plants, photos and ornaments off the sideboard and onto the wall, which is the quickest way to make a room feel tidier without losing the things that make it yours.
Design
Unlike a thin floating plank, Quant has a broad, framed profile: an Oak Artisan frame wrapped around a laminated board carcass with black decor detailing. At 26cm high and 25cm deep it has real presence on the wall, and the honey-toned oak grain warms up a grey or white room. It is made to match the rest of the Quant collection, so it lines up naturally above a Quant chest of drawers, a TV unit or a desk.
What it holds
The shelf takes up to 10kg in total. That is enough for a row of paperbacks, a few framed prints, small plants and a speaker, or a collection of vinyl sleeves propped along its length. Spread heavier items towards the fixing points rather than bunching them in the middle.
Where it works
Mount it above a TV cabinet to frame the screen, above a desk in a home office, along a hallway as a landing spot for keys and post, or over a bed as a slim alternative to a headboard shelf. At 155cm it spans most sofas and double beds.
Fixing it to the wall
The shelf is supplied flat-packed and needs assembling. Wall fixings are not included, because the right ones depend on your wall: solid brick and block need masonry plugs and screws, while plasterboard needs cavity fixings rated for the load or, better, screws into the timber studs. Use a spirit level, check for hidden cables and pipes with a detector before drilling, and if in doubt ask a handyman to fit it.
