The Manhattan Sliding Door Wardrobe 226cm with Black Glass Band is a statement wardrobe for a main bedroom: 226cm wide, 65cm deep and 220cm high, with two large sliding doors in a soft Cashmere finish, outlined in a black frame and crossed by a band of black glass. Inside, Arte-N’s interior image shows two hanging sections, three drawers and a tall column of shelves, so one wardrobe can hold a couple’s everyday clothes.

Design

Cashmere is a warm, pale greige that sits between cream and light grey. Here it is paired with slim black edging around each door and a glossy black glass strip running across both doors at about two-thirds height. The result is a crisp, hotel-style front that works with dark wood floors, grey upholstered beds and black metal lamps, and it gives a large wardrobe a lighter look than a solid dark one. The doors slide past each other, so nothing swings into the room: useful when the bed sits close to the wardrobe wall.

Storage inside

Arte-N’s interior image shows three sections. On the left, a top shelf above a hanging rail for shirts and jackets, with a stack of three drawers underneath for underwear, socks and accessories. In the centre, a top shelf above a long hanging section for dresses, coats and trousers, with open floor space for shoes. On the right, a narrower column of shelves for folded clothes, bags and bedding. Arte-N’s specification lists two hanging rails, shelves and drawers. They do not publish internal measurements for this model, so none are quoted here. At 65cm deep, standard adult hangers sit square-on with room to spare.

Size and fit

Overall it measures W226cm x D65cm x H220cm and weighs about 207kg, delivered in several flat-pack boxes. Because it is 220cm tall, allow a ceiling of at least 2.3m where it is assembled so it can be stood upright, and check the height under any coving or a light fitting near the wall. Measure doorways, stairs and landings for the longest boxes before ordering. Sliding doors need no swing space, but leave enough room in front to open the drawers fully.

Finish and care

The cabinet and door panels are laminated board, a durable wipe-clean finish. Clean the panels with a soft, slightly damp cloth and the glass band with a glass cleaner sprayed onto the cloth rather than the door. Keep the bottom track free of dust and grit so the doors glide smoothly, and avoid abrasive pads or solvent cleaners.
