Description

The London Mirrored Sliding Wardrobe 203cm pairs two very different doors: one faced with vertical slats and one full-height mirror, set in a warm Oak Wotan wood-effect frame. It is 203cm wide, 60cm deep and 215cm tall, so it gives a lot of storage on a two-metre wall, and the sliding doors need no swing space in front of them.

Design

Slatted fronts have moved from living-room media walls into the bedroom, and the London uses them to give a large wardrobe texture and rhythm instead of a flat slab. The slatted door covers the shelving half and the mirror covers the hanging half, so the mirror is where you need it when choosing clothes. The Oak Wotan frame is a deep, brown-gold oak effect with a visible grain that suits industrial, loft and modern rustic rooms.

Finishes

Oak Wotan / Black Matt combines the oak frame with a dark slatted door, a strong contrast that works with black metal bed frames, dark floors and charcoal walls. Oak Wotan / White Matt sets white slats against the same oak, which feels lighter and more Scandinavian and suits pale walls and light floors. Both finishes have the same mirror door and the same interior.

Storage inside

The interior is split roughly in half. A row of top compartments about 36cm high runs across the whole width for bags, boxes and spare duvets. The left section, about 99cm wide, is open shelving in two columns of about 48cm and 37cm, with shelf spacings of around 39cm to 43cm, which suits folded jumpers, jeans, towels and shoe boxes. The right section, about 98cm wide, is double hanging: an upper rail with roughly 75cm of drop and a lower rail with about 80cm, so you can hang two rows of shirts, jackets and skirts in the same space one long rail would take. It does not have a full-length rail, so long dresses and coats are better hung elsewhere.

Size and fit

It measures W203cm x D60cm x H215cm. At 215cm it is taller than many wardrobes, so check the height under any sloping ceiling, beam or coving. The cabinet is built lying down and then stood up, so you need a ceiling of at least 2.3m in the room where it is assembled. It weighs about 184kg once built.

Looking after it

Dust the slats with a soft brush or a microfibre cloth, clean the mirror with glass cleaner sprayed onto a cloth, and keep the bottom track free of fluff so the doors run quietly.
