A four piece corner sofa in Teal Green velvet
The Hudson corner is a four-module L-shaped sofa with square arms, fully upholstered fixed backs and a double sprung seat. It is currently available in Teal Green velvet, a deep blue-green that works as the colour statement of a room and pairs well with mustard, ochre and brass accents, pale greys and warm white walls. The other colours shown in earlier photography (steel, pebble grey, ebony black and marine blue) are not currently available from the maker.
Why four modules matter
A 262cm L-shape will not go up a staircase or round a tight hall in one piece. The Hudson comes as four separate sections, which are much easier to carry through a standard doorway and along a landing, and they are put together in the room where the sofa will live.
Fixed back, double sprung seat
Fully upholstered fixed backs, rather than loose scatter cushions, mean the sofa holds its shape without anyone plumping it. Under the seat cushions is a double sprung unit rather than webbing alone, the construction that helps a corner sofa keep sitting level after years of daily use.

Measure before you order
A corner sofa is the piece of furniture people most often regret buying without measuring. Three numbers matter: the width of your narrowest doorway, the width of the turn at the top or bottom of your stairs, and the length of the two walls the sofa will sit against, here 262cm and 185cm. Measure doorways diagonally as well as straight across; a section that will not go through flat will often go through on its side.
Leave at least 60cm of walking space in front of the seat. On paper a corner group always looks smaller than it does in the room.
Fabric and care
Vacuum weekly with a soft upholstery head, brush the velvet pile in one direction to keep the colour even, and blot spills rather than rubbing them. Keep the sofa out of long spells of direct sunlight where you can: strong light fades any upholstery fabric, and it fades unevenly.
