Description

Both sofas, one price

This is the Lenox three seater and the Lenox two seater supplied together as a set. Bought individually the two come to £1,284.98; as a set they are £985.99. Nothing about the sofas differs — same aegean blue velvet, same scatter-back cushions, same slim dark legs. The saving is simply what our supplier gives on the pair.

Why a three and a two rather than a corner

A corner group commits you to one layout and one wall. Two separate sofas can face each other, sit at right angles, or be split between rooms later when the house changes. If you are not certain how the room will be used in three years, two pieces are the safer buy.

Aegean blue velvet

A deep, slightly grey-leaning navy. Velvet pile catches light differently from each angle, which is what stops a dark sofa reading as a flat block. The scatter backs are loose rather than fixed, so you set your own support.

Dimensions

  • 3 Seater: 222cm wide x 96cm deep x 70cm high. Seat width 170cm, seat depth 56cm.
  • 2 Seater: same 96cm depth, 70cm height and 56cm seat depth in a narrower frame.

Please check your access route before ordering — two sofas means two deliveries through the same door.

Care

Brush velvet in the direction of the pile with a soft clothes brush. Blot marks rather than soaking them. Pile shading is characteristic of velvet, not a fault.

Delivery

Free delivery to England and Wales mainland. We do not currently deliver to the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland or the offshore islands.

Measure before you order

A three and two piece set is easier to place than a corner group, but it still needs planning. Measure the wall the three seater will sit against, then decide where the two seater goes — facing it, or at right angles. Facing works in a long room; at right angles works better in a square one and keeps the television sightline clear for both.

Check your narrowest doorway, and measure it diagonally as well as straight across.

Living with velvet

Aegean blue velvet is a statement colour and it behaves like one — it reads deeper in lamplight and brighter in daylight, because the pile catches light differently depending on which way it lies. Brush the pile one way with a soft brush to keep it even, blot spills rather than rubbing, and keep it out of hard direct sun, which fades any dyed pile fabric unevenly.

Delivery

Delivered free to mainland England and Wales. We do not currently deliver to the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland or the offshore islands. Large upholstery is delivered in sections wherever the design allows, which makes a narrow hallway or a turn on the stairs far less of a problem.

Questions people ask

Is the blue as strong as it looks on screen? Screens vary. It is a true deep blue rather than a navy. If the exact shade matters, ask us for a swatch before ordering.

Does velvet wear well on a sofa used every day? Yes, provided you brush the pile and vacuum it. Wear shows as flattened pile in the most-used seat, which is why rotating cushions matters.

What colours work with it? Warm neutrals, brass and natural wood. Grey next to strong blue tends to look cold.

Can the pieces be split between rooms? Yes — they are two separate sofas.

Will it show pet hair? Light hair on dark velvet will show. A rubber brush lifts it in seconds.
