Description
The Home Nook 2 Door Hinged Wardrobe 120cm is a practical white double wardrobe that gives folded clothes as much room as hanging ones. It measures 119.5cm wide, 42cm deep and 210.5cm high. Behind two wide hinged doors there is a 57cm two-tier hanging bay on the left and a generous 58cm column of five shelf compartments on the right, so jumpers, jeans, bedding and shoe boxes all have a proper home.
Design
This is a straightforward, well-proportioned wardrobe with two flat white doors and a pair of slim bar handles at the centre. It is 15cm to 18cm shallower than most wardrobes, which helps in a small double bedroom where the space between the bed and the wardrobe is often the tightest part of the room. The wide shelf column is the main difference from the 89cm Home Nook: where that model has a narrow 27cm column, this one has a full 58cm of shelving, enough to stack two piles of folded clothes side by side.
Finish and build
The cabinet and doors are white laminated chipboard, a wipe-clean surface that suits white, grey or pale painted walls and makes a small room feel lighter. Each door has a slim vertical bar handle in a light plastic finish, set in pairs where two doors meet, and the plinth sits just above the floor so the front reads as one clean block. Every shelf is rated for about 15kg and every rail for about 6kg of clothing, which is plenty for everyday shirts and dresses but worth keeping in mind for heavy winter coats. Wall-fixing fittings come in the box and must be used: a 210cm-high cabinet that is only 42cm deep needs to be fixed back to the wall.
Storage inside
From Arte-N’s dimension drawing: the hanging bay is about 57cm wide with an upper tier of about 86cm and a lower tier of about 116cm, separated by a fixed shelf. Arte-N list two hanging rails, one for each tier, which doubles the rail length in a small footprint: shirts and jackets above, trousers and skirts below. The shelf column is about 58cm wide with five compartments of about 37cm, 41cm, 39cm, 40cm and 40cm high. Inside depth is about 38cm, so bulky winter coats on wide hangers may touch the doors, while shirts, dresses and knitwear fit well.
Size and fit
Overall it is W119.5cm x D42cm x H210.5cm and weighs about 75.7kg. Each door is roughly 60cm wide, so leave about 60cm of clear floor in front for them to open fully. Allow a ceiling of at least 2.2m where it is built, because it is assembled lying down and stood up. Measure doorways and stair turns for the flat-pack boxes before ordering.
Looking after it
Wipe the doors and shelves with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry them straight away. Avoid abrasive pads, bleach and solvent cleaners on the laminate. Check the hinge screws a few weeks after assembly, once the cabinet has settled, and adjust the hinges if a door starts to sit proud of its neighbour.
