Description
The Winn II Sliding Door Wardrobe 200cm is a two-metre sliding wardrobe with three front drawers, long and short hanging and shelves, in plain White or a two-tone Oak Artisan and Concrete Grey. Each of its two bays is close to a metre wide inside, so it holds the clothes of two people comfortably, and the sliding doors mean it can go opposite a bed or beside a door where a hinged wardrobe would not open.
Design
Like the rest of the Winn II range it has an irregular front. The left door stops short at the bottom so three drawers sit in the front of the wardrobe, stacked beneath it. On the two-tone version the drawers are concrete grey against an oak door, and the right-hand door is concrete grey too, which makes a bold, architectural shape on a plain wall. In white it reads as one calm block. Fine horizontal shadow lines divide each door, and the handles are slim and low-profile.
Finishes
White is a clean matt white all over. It brightens a small or north-facing room and sits easily with any bed. Oak Artisan / Concrete Grey pairs a knotty, golden Artisan oak effect with a dark concrete-grey door and drawer fronts, trimmed in black. It is the most striking option and suits an industrial or loft-style bedroom. Every finish is a laminated chipboard, so it resists scuffs and wipes clean.
Storage inside
Arte-N’s drawing shows two bays about 97.8cm wide. The right bay has a top shelf with about 37cm of space above it and a rail with about 155cm of hanging height for long coats, dresses and full-length trousers. The left bay has the same top shelf, a rail with about 72cm of hanging height for shirts, jackets and skirts, and a shelf about 55cm deep over the drawer section. Below that are the three drawers, each about 54cm wide and 34cm deep, and an open bay about 39cm wide and 82cm high beside them for shoes, bags or a laundry basket. The drawers run on ball-bearing runners rated at 5kg; the shelves are rated at 15kg. Inside depth is about 53cm.
Size and fit
It measures 200.1cm wide, 61.2cm deep and 200.5cm high. It is assembled lying down and then raised, and the side-panel diagonal is about 210cm, so the room needs a ceiling of at least 2.15m. Allow a clear path for the long side panels when you carry the boxes in. It stands on plastic feet and weighs about 127.7kg once built.
Looking after it
The easy-clean laminated surface only needs a soft, slightly damp cloth, dried straight after. Vacuum the bottom door track now and then so the doors keep gliding, and keep the heaviest folded items on the lower shelf rather than the top one.
